Hey what does everyone think about having a fun dance with the father of the bride? I've seen some videos on YouTube and I can just see my dad and me doing it but I don't want people watching to feel awkward?
Reason for thinking was we have loads of songs that we have a laugh to like agado, single ladies, michel Jackson, Tom jones blah blah.

    Is it a common thing?!

Post your thoughts as will be much appreciated!!

    Thanks :D

    I love this!
Me and my dad used to sing 'paradise by the dashboard lights' by meatloaf and I always loved doing the end bit where they sing (shout) to each other! But, the meaning of the song feels a bit too risqué to do at the wedding?
My dad isn't a lovey dovey slow music dance person, and I think it would be funny to get the band to play a short version of the song and surprise everyone with singing it together!

I'm ALL for fun first dances :)

    Xx

When I was 4-5 yrs old my dad decided to teach me to head bang to rock music (his favourite type of music) - during which he put his neck out. It's been a tale that always makes friends and family laugh, and weirdly a fond memory I have (he injured himself trying to make me a rocker- what's not to love).

Because of this, we will be playing one of mine and dads favourite rock songs to head bang at my wedding - although he will be taking it easy.
    I don't care how stupid I will look :-) x

I don't think people will find it awkward and definitely no more awkward than watching a slow dance. The dance is supposed to be about you sharing a moment with your Dad and it sounds to me that your moment would be much better spent having some fun. You could always do one of those remixes where it starts with a slow song and then scratches and cuts to something more fun :) Lots of the clips that I've seen on the Tube like this have made me giggle. Either way I think you should choose something you are comfortable with. x
