I am getting married on 14th May 2016, we are doing our wedding on a bit of a budget. Our Colour scheme is Red, Black & White and i have been looking at bouquets for myself and my maid of honour. What has come as a bit of a shock is that they want to charge me around £100 just for a simple posy for me and it would be around £60 for my maid of honour, i think this is very expensive for something that will only last a few days. One thing i have thought about is having artificial flowers in the bouquet so that way we can keep them forever. Has anyone else had artificial flowers and what do you think, is this a good idea? We have been quoted £90 for the 2 bouquets doing it with artificial flowers.

You have a similar scheme to me :) Personally I only want real flowers as I prefer them and maybe using them to make into keepsakes which can't be done with fake. If you are looking at cost and you like the way they look go for it :)

Personally I prefer real flowers but if you want to keep them and you're happy they come out cheaper then go for it.

I thought i really wanted real flowers but when i seen this company on book of face, i changed my mind, especially as i can keep my flowers afterwards, i ended up ordering everything from them from my bouquet to the chief bridesmaids to the button holes and corsages, im really happy with my decision and i was totally stuck on having fresh, ive surprised myself, why not try going to a few wedding fairs where you know their will be people there so you an see some close up, this may help with your choice x

I think I'm leaning towards artificial flowers - I have fallen in love with some of the ones on S1lk Bl00ms. I'm not overly fussed about real flowers.. I appreciate they are lovely, but it just doesn't 'do' it for me. x

I also wanted real flowers, but decided to cut costs by making my own bouquets. It didn't seem very realistic that I would want to be making bouquets with real flowers the night before my wedding, so I looked into silk flowers. I wasn't all too impressed with the quality of some and concerned I would be disappointed with the quality if I ordered online. Eventually I found foam flowers and took a risk ordering some from a popular auction site to see how it would work. The quality of the flowers is amazing and they are so easy to work with and I can start making now for my June 2016 wedding :-) I have unfortunately learned the hard way that they fade in the sun! But have enjoyed making so much that I am now planning and ordering for centre pieces, wreaths and top table decorations. Might be an option for you if you like yo be creative?

    I'm not even having flowers.
I did consider both fresh and artificial, and in the end decided against both. Its such a vast amount of money...!
I will be carrying two wooden hearts, attached with ribbon, in memory of my mum, which will simply read, 'In memory of Ann *******', Mother of the Bride. It will be decorated with tiny flowers here and there and the ribbon will match my colour scheme, which is ivory, red and black.
My 2 older bridesmaids are carrying a satin dolly bag and my 2 of my 3 younger bridesmaids will be carrying hoops with a sort of daisy chain entwined around it, while the youngest bridesmaid is going to carry a satin covered tissue box to offer around for the 'weepies'.
