Hi all I have a dilemma, my H2B picked a song for our first dance. It's by out favourite band, it has a beautiful chorus:
"It takes a village to raise a child, It takes an army to march a mile, Yeah, And it takes true love to stand the test of time, And it takes you babe to make me smile"
However some of the lyrics in the verses make it sound a bit like a breakup song, should we stick too our decision or pick a new one???

If YOU BOTH love the song then stick with it ..... any song can mean ifferentbthings to different people
If you both like it then stick with it. Is it a DJ or a live singer? A live singer might be able to omit the verses that don’t fit so well. If it’s a DJ then you could see if it’s possible to get an edited recording.

Thanks both, I spoke to my H2B and he wants to stick with it. He said that it resonates with him because I travel with work a lot and he understands the lyrics are about being away from someone you love rather than having broken up with them.
