Wedding Forum - Fighting the venue on tomorrows weather...

So since I last posted I have been constantly checking the weather and with 24 hours to go its now saying it will be cloudy but sunny no rain! It has been hit and miss all week so I was really excited about getting wed out doors but when i rang the venue about dropping things off he said we need to have a serious talk about the weather. When i mentioned the forecast (and i have checked 3 different sites) he said we should still consider that outdoors may not be possible and need to discuss this later on today. For a couple months now we have been getting the feeling that the venue are more bothered about making their jobs easier rather than pleasing us and this just adds to it. I know it is ALOT more work to set up outside as they wind white roses round the garden furniture and make it look beautiful but that is why we booked with them. If it isnt forcast rain when i see them at 5pm then we are having it outside! I just dont want to upset the venue. Our whole day is resting in their hands!

if they didnt want to do outside weddings, they shouldnt offer them, tell them tough $hit. that is what you want

dont worry about 'upsetting' them. you are paying for a service. they should be worried about upsetting you.

if its raining in the morning, then fair enough. set up inside.

It may be the case that they just want to talk to you about how you would like the inside set up incase the weather is bad? Most places that do outside wedding set up inside too just in case the outside one isn't possible xxx

It may just be like Linzi-Jo says and that they want to know what you want if it does end up being an indoor wedding. Fingers crossed for you hun, I hope you get the outdoor wedding and that the clouds disappear too

Hope it all works out. Even if it rains they should still let you have the ceremony outside and get soaked if you really want.

hi laside, by the time i got there tonight another member of staff had convinced him it would be okay. He is going to ring me in the morning to see what we want to do! He said they will set up outside without chair covers if there is a chance of rain and then we can make a decision an hour before but looking at the weather we sould be fine. Thanks for your support ladies. Not long to go now.

Sounds a bit sticky m looks like the weathers supposed to be nice tomorrow down here. Or venue are the opposite, they are like we have only ever had to bring the wedding inside during summer
