    Hey guys,

As some of you may know, under no circumstance whatsoever was I going to be wearing shoes on my wedding day.. I was doing this for 2 reasons, 1. In memory of my grandma who, like me, took her shoes off at any possible chance and 2. Because I really don't want to be moaning about something as stupid as my feet hurting on my wedding day... Mainly for my grandma though.. I have even bought toe rings and an anklet because I was so 100% sure...

I got my dress on Saturday (eeeekk!!!) and I was stood up on the box thing and it looked amazing, but then I got down off it and I felt really dumpy :-( I tried a pair of shoes on (reluctantly), they were a 4.5inch heel and my goodness the difference they made !! So obviously I have decided now to wear shoes, but really feel really fickle and like I'm letting my grandma down :-( :-(

I know this probably all sounds so stupid, but I'm hoping at least one person will see where I'm coming from......

I'm also worried about buying light coloured shoes when the majority of the outside of our venue is grass :-/ my heels will be sinking and getting all mucky... Xxx

Aw that's a shame - could you maybe take them off after the ceromony and photos? Or for the evening?

You can get special heel protectors that will stop you sinking and protect the shoes themselves

    ((((HUG)))

I'm sure that your Grandma would appreciate the sentiment you had but also understand why you need to wear heels. You could always not wear them in the evening or something? I had small heels for the day and flats for the night-time. At the end of the day, she would want you looking stunning and if that means you need shoes, then you need shoes :-)

With regards to light coloured shoes, my theme was coffee, champagne, ivory and gold. I had coffee coloured shoes to tie the colour in with my dress, along with a coffee colour ribbon to lave my dress up. It had been raining/wet the day before my wedding and when Jez and i went onto the lawned bit to have photos, yes my heel did sink in, but because it was only a few shots then off the grass, it didnt stain my shoes at all.

At the end of the day, if your shoes get mucky, who cares - you'll only be wearing them once :-) xxx

    Hey hun,

I see where your coming from in respects to your grandma but I am sure she'd still be proud of you no matter what choice you make, also why not consider going barefoot after the ceremony and after the formal photo's, that way you feel confident enough in those parts of the days and wont feel "dumpy" and the rest of the time when people are not going to be bothered about whether you wear shoes or not, go barefoot. Are you shoes the style in which they could be dyed after the day? or what about opting for a bright colour to go with something not so traditional ? I have got a small heeled ivory satin shoe for the day but as you know furry slippers for after :)
what ever decision you make it will be right for you xxx

Yeah I will probably end up doing that Laura cause my feet will be killing me lol.. I'm rubbish with heels.. We have a raised garden with decking coming off it in our garden which we call Grandmas garden so I do plan to have a citrus stood up on the decking in bare feet in the morning :-)
I just really wanted to be bare feet for the whole ceremony etc, but you know when there's just that one thing missing to make something perfect, well shoes are it for my dress :-/

Ooo can you ?? What are they called ? xxx

If you google 'high heel protectors' loads come up, theyre relatively cheap.

And I'm sure you're grandma would appreciate the sentiment behind it xx

I'm sure your grandma would understand and would want you to feel a million dollars on the day, be it with heels or not...

Why not spend time at the reception with them off and have some photo shots with them off and on too... you could have some fun focussed shots of your feet! Plus they won't get horrible on the day on the tarmac, pavement, carpet or grass!

Beleive you me, walking around barefoot all day on multi terrain is not that nice...especially if the ground is cold and wet or really hot -burned soles! Plus as you're not used to it... you will end up with really sore shins and calves!

    Thanks Laura :-)

I had thought about the wet Valentina which I was worried about lol, but I am very used to being bare foot.. I take my shoes off as soon as I get to work, spent the majority of our 2weeks in Spain bare foot and as long as I'm at home I never have shoes on lol..
I will definitely get some bare feet shots throughout the day :-) Great idea.. H2B will have to carry my foot jewellery in his pocket so i can put it on as and when hehe.. Xxx

Was it the extra height of the shoes that made you feel amazing? You could still go bare foot, but stand on your tip toes for photos!!

I would definitely wear something on your feet for outside though

It was the height (which the box did) and also the way they changed my posture LK.. So different.. I was planning to just have some flip flops for outside before.. I'll have to look at those heel protectors xxx

im planning on wearing small heels for the ceremony and pics as im a shorty and will give me a bit more height next to my hubby and bms, and then wearing flats for rest of night, as i find them uncomfy! don't know how im going to organise this with my dress length, but will work it out
