Hi, I have a friend coming to my wedding next week, without a guest, and will be the only person not eating during the day because he'll be observing Ramadan.
I'm struggling to think of ways so he doesn't feel excluded while everyone around him is eating and drinking. (His meal is being saved until the evening when he asks for it)
I don't worry that anyone will make a big fuss of it, but thought maybe if he has something to do with his hands while everyone else tucks into their food, it might help ease the awkwardness for him. I don't know what to do.
    Help, please!

tbh i would ask him what he wants to do ....

you say he might need something to do with his hands but i dont think a colouring book would be appropriate for a grown man lol lol lol

We have someone who doesn't eat as she is peg fed, but there will be someone with her who will be talking to her and keeping her entertained. She's an adult but has severe cerebral palsy, and a mental age largely in the teens. Is he sitting with people who know him who he can talk to? You also need to consider whether other people might feel awkward eating in front of him, I know I would. Could you give him a job that needs doing, like keeping an eye on background music?

I'm sure he's used to it but maybe ask him whether he's okay to just sit at the table with other guests whilst they're eating or if he'd want to do something else.

I'm sure he is used to this type of scenario, if your really concerned ask him about it.

I don't even think you'll need to raise the question even, I'm sure he's been out with friends who've had lunch during this time or something even like eating a snack or something, he's just going to be used to it I'm sure x

I'm sure he will be fine like many of the comments I bet this isn't the first occasion he has been in this situation . Even though everyone will be eating I'm sure there will still be plenty of talking going on and interactions with the other guests :)
