    Hi Ladies,

Just wanted to get an idea of peoples opinions on this: I am having my main hen abroad, and another hen in London (where we live) to which my mum, h2bs mum etc will be invited to too. We are pretty much at full capacity for the wedding day so unless people drop out some people will be confined to the evening guest list.

There are 3 girls that are on my evening guest list that very often come out for nights out within my circle of friends. Now I was always under the impression that you only invite people to your hen that are invited to the whole day and a lot of people have told me thats what they think too...do you agree?

Then I was thinking that maybe that only counted if you were asking people to spend a lot of money on a weekend away - obviously my London hen would be like a local night out for these girls. Would you invite these girls to the London hen or not? If you were an evening guest would you be offended if you got an invite to the hen but not the actual day? Or would you be more offended not to get invited to the hen at all?

weddings are a faux pas minefield!! xx

I have been to two weddings where I was invited to the Hen and as an evening guest and to be honest it didn't bother me at all and I enjoyed myself and both events. Granted those hen nights were not abroad though.

There will be people coming to my hen night that will only be invited to the evening reception and I know they won't be offended at all.

    I hope this helps :)

I wouldn't be offended to go to a hen night but only get an evening invite.

I've invited people on my weekend hen that will be evening only and it's not bothering them they are happy to get an evening invite.

I've got some evening guests on my hen, as a lot of my day guests are either too far away or of an age where they didn't fancy it.

I'm basically asking who I want on hen whether day or evening guests as we are trying to keep a rein on numbers for wedding and so far it 100ish for day and 250 for night and the only friends included in day is my MOH and best man .

I made sure that people knew which list they were on before the hen do and invited mostly day guests but I also had people want to come to my hen do even though they cant make the wedding at all. People will just do what they feel comfortable with. Its taken me til 4 weeks to the wedding to realise that I shouldnt fuss so much about everyone else.

When I got married the 1st time I think the only people from the day guest list were my mum and close friend, the rest were all friends that were evening only. I then had a hen that was for older ladies, so just a meal and they were mostly evening guests to. This time I am not sure what I even want to do for my hen xx

I'm the same as the other ladies. I had a Hen do in London, where admittedly it was all day guests, but only because some of the evening only guests couldn't make it, Then next weekend I have a local Hen do, and I have both evening only and Day guests coming. They are aware they are evening only guests, yet they are still more then happy to come. I think if you have a laugh with these 3 girls, then invite them, if they don't like it, they won't come, but I bet they will love to be invited regardless of there invite type on the actual wedding day xxxxx

For a local / cheap hen I think it is fine to invite evening guests. For expensive / abroad / overnight hen do's I would either invite them all to the day or only invite the day guests on that hen.

I went on a hen abroad where a lot of the girls found out after comitting to the do that they were getting evening only invites and it caused a lot of problems. To the point that they all fell out with the bride and ended up not going to the wedding at all.
