It's our engagement party on Saturday and I'm really nervous. How stupid is that?!?!?!
I just want to look perfect and for everything to go amazingly. This is probably not helped by h2b telling me how excited he is about it last night.
We're having drinks and buffet at ours for about 12 hours on Saturday!!! Thinking it's excessive now but it's the only way we could do it without anyone being excluded really.
My main issue is that it's now Tuesday and I have no idea what to wear!! Please please please!!! If anyone has any ideas for me I would appreciate advice so much.
If I'm like this over the engagement party god only knows what I'll be like on my wedding day lol

Although we're going out for drinks, nothing as exciting as you!!!It'll be lovely, have a few drinks to calm down and chill out- you'll be fine! As what to wear I don't know !what sort of clothes your comfortable in? Are you going casual, dressy??? x

Think I want to go inbetween maybe... Jeans and a nice top i guess. Just don't know whether I should be going a bit more dressed up than that. H2B's mum is really glamorous and they're coming with some of their friends so want to make a good impression.

Yeah I guess I want to go all out but I'm a bit scared of being over-dressed. Though I suppose that would be the joy of it being in our house. I can always nip upstairs and change if I want to. I had an amazing pair of jeans from a market stall a few months ago that I ripped but might go and see if they've go any more. I felt amazing in them!!! And they're grey so quite dressy. Then maybe heels, a nice top and some sparkly jewellery?
I can always have some emergency outfits ready upstairs if that's either too much or not enough.
    How does that sound?

Thats a good idea! The great thing about hosting a party at your house is that you can always get changed into somthing else!! If it were me, by 6 o'clock I'd be in my jammies!!! x

Aww yeah I will. Thanks guys. I love this forum. I can ask you lot things I'm too embarrassed to ask my friends and you always come back with fantastic responses and make life so much easier. Think everyone needs a little UKBride forum in their lives. The world would be a happier and much simpler place.

    Hi Walesfromafar,

I know this may be too late, however, I really wanted to share it with the forum and other people who will be struggling with nerves. I read************************************ and other public speaking anxiety websites and this really helped me!

EDIT - LINK HAS BEEN REMOVED PLEASE POP IT ON YOUR WALL , WE DO NOT ALLOW THEM ON THE FORUM . MODS

You can definitely wear whatever you want. It is YOUR engagement party. Seriously. The dress I wore could've doubled as a wedding dress, but I definitely didn't care. It was fun being the bride to be!!!

It was good practice though. honestly. It was tough..making sure everyone felt they were getting our attention and introducing people..making sure everyone was having fun. It was def the best way to practice for the wedding itself and remind me that I need to make sure I don't worry about everyone else on my big day!
