Hello! My name is Katrina (aka Kat). I'm a newbie and newly engaged bride to be. Yipee!! I haven't set a date yet, however I am thinking sometime 2016. Ours will be a small humanist wedding with about 45 guests for ceremony, breakfast and reception. I'm hoping I will be able to do the whole thing (apart from dress and rings) for about £4K or less. Not only that, I want it to be easy to get to so I'm dreaming of a central-ish Edinburgh venue in a nice enough location. Anyone have any ideas as to where I can start? Am I being too unrealistic? All ideas are welcome! xxx

Being very honest I think for a central Edinburgh venue you might be a bit over optimistic in doing everything under 4k. I live in Dundee and personally I find Edinburgh very hard to get through even before all the tram fiasco started. You would probably find it easier maybe hiring out a manor house outside of Edinburgh for a weekend and you can have all the guests under one roof. You might even find a hotel with a really food package deal.
For eg in Perth there is a hotel called Huntingtower Hotel and they do a package that includes everything and would be £2,016 thats inc DJ and buffet etc. Maybe you could find something like that?
