Really pleased as today we've managed to shave about £800 off our package thanks to no alcohol at dinner so I'm pretty chuffed with that! We've got 3 iced jugs per table which are fruit punch, pink lemonade and iced water and for our toasts we've got elderflower with sparkling water - a much cheaper, tastier option without the price tag :D it's also more refreshing and none of the cheap crap you normally get in wedding alcohol packages so it's a win win!! No way are we paying £588 just for the toasting drinks alone!!

Do you have a bar? Cos I think lots will still buy drinks, my sis put non alcoholic fizzy juices on the tables at her wedding but they were hardly touched, so didn't want you to waste too much money on non alcoholic options, and again elderflower is an accomplished taste, I'm not keen myself and two of my friends have an intolerance to it so I'd need to know I could buy something alternative to toast with, x
It is a great saving though x

£588 just for toasting drinks is ridiculous! My Stepsister just had soft drinks on the table at her civil partnership ceremony because it was too expensive to have alcohol. My Sister bought a bottle of wine from the bar and didn't get much change from a £10 note :o/
We've had to order wine ourselves for our wedding. We got a package deal from M4jest1c and it was about £300 for wine and water. They've agreed to deliver it aswell.

What a lovely idea. Drinks prices are pretty shocking.

Thanks ladies :)
We will have the bar open in the room but tbh, we don't really have any 'big' drinkers and even the ones that do like a drink will be sensible and buy a bottle of wine between them to spread the cost so we shouldn't have any problems! There's no way that we are paying £588 just for the toasts, it's just extortionate :(
We would get a package like Maj but we would only be charged corkage unfortunately! It was going to be £150 charge if we wanted to bring in a few cheeses and biscuits to put out with their buffet, I mean really?? The cake is coming in so what's the difference?! X

My h2b is worried people will be too drunk at ours lol welcome drink, free flowing wine with the meal and the toast drink - luckily my parents are paying so I didnt think about making a saving really. Dad was going to replace their prosecco as part of the package with some champagne he likes which would work out similar price but venue was devious and wanted extra charges and wanted £25 a bottle corkage too as well as still charging for the prosecco as part of their package which we wouldnt be having.

I think if its what you want for your wedding then great. We have went with the package eat the hotel not sure of the cost as its included in the all day package. but we have champagne/beer for arrival drinks, 1/2 bottle of wime per person with dinner and champagne for the toast.
Hotels/venues charge a fortune for drinks but its another way for them making money IF anyone is caught with their own booze at my wedding reception WE get fined for it lol

Unfortunately, we sacrificed the alcohol for an extra (but very yummy!) starter instead.. It's what we've gone for and tbh if anyone whinges then that's their problem if they can't handle a few hours without drink but really, they are all lovely people and any that want alcohol have the little bar in the room anyway should they want anything. Mind you, if anyone brings in booze and doesn't use the bar and we get the fine then it will be sent to the responsible guests LOL.

Oh id rather have food than alcohol lol. Like you say there is a bar there if they really want alcohol but your idea of non alcoholic drinks is lovely.
I might have done this if the alcohol wasn't already included in the price of the overall package. Thats what we say too whoever is caught with it will pay the fine why should we suffer.

Thank you :) I'm glad as some people have been so rude about our plans so it's nice to hear from people that actually like the idea!
I think if people are that disrespectful of your day then they shouldn't be there at all, e.g. bringing in alcohol when plenty is provided.

It's your day hun, I think it's a lovely idea and like you say if people really want alcohol they can get their own from the bar, it's not like you are not offering drinks at all. People will probably be glad of a more refreshing option in the middle of Summer :)
