Well, today is the day I go dress shopping for the very first time!! I'm so nervous yet excited..... I'm looking forward to trying some different styles but I'm dreading finding the perfect dress as I don't have any money for a deposit lol.....
Oh well, it's gonna be fun getting some ideas and feeling girly for a few hours xx

Just enjoy it, try on different styles, you might think that one particular style might not suit you, only to find it does when trying on. Are you taking a large entourage with you? I've seen shows where the B2B has loved the dress and feels like it is the one, yet just one person in the entourage says nay, this has then put the B2B off. If you feel it is the one, then it is. You are the one wearing it. You may get the feeling in the first one you try, but carry on trying others just to make sure.

i agree with Glitterfairy, i was adament there were things i wanted and didnt want on my dress - when i went in the owner told me to forget everything and just try them all on - what do you kow an hour later i had bought my dream dress (and it wasnt anything like i thought it was going to be!!)

I'm very open to all dresses and like you say, what I imagine may not even suit me.

I'm going for the first time in a few weeks with just my mum. There's no ones opinion I trust more than hers when trying anything on. We've both agreed this first one is to find styles that suit (although if I find the one, then bonus!). I was advised by a friend to wear a good fitting white strapless bra too. X
Just have fun, and try on as many different styles/shapes/fabrics as you can. I was adamant that I didn't want a strapless dress, any bling, or a train, and that's exactly what I ended up with lol.

I'm really nervous now...... Not sure if it's because I'm going in public with no makeup on lol or just because it's a big deal!!
Not got a good strapless bra unfortunately as I don't wear them (I'm quite large chested) I just don't feel they do anything but I've got a good bra on so fingers crossed xx

You might not need a bra; I'm not tiny (though I'm not massive either: 30E/32DD) and ended up not wearing one as my dress had so much support! So you can always take the bra off to get a better idea :-)

I wouldn't worry about the bra. The only time you need the right bra is when you have final fittings, and they need to adjust it with the underwear that you will wear. It's really exciting dress shopping, and for me it was the first time I really felt like a bride to be. Don't worry about not having a deposit today, normally they send away for the dress to be made to your measurements so it's not a case of needing to buy the dress or someone else might. As long as the designer isn't going to discontinue the dress, and the shop will know if that's the case, you can place the order later on. It's likely though that you wouldn't make a decision today anyway.

I was out with mum and we passed by a dress shop and decided to stop by lol It was not as exciting for me as I thought it would be. I think it might ve cause we didn't love the dresses and I only tried two. I found out white goes PERFECT on me (the contrast with my skin colour is amazing!!) Enjoy the day! :D

Well ladies, what an experience!
I was a bag of nerves and got behind the curtain and wouldn't come out lol.......
The shop was really busy but it was Saturday morning, however, we selected a few dresses what I might like and started trying on.
The first dress I put on was gorgeous! It fit like a glove and I had a perfect hourglass figure in it I didn't need a bra after all...... It had cross over straps at the back with little diamanté on and it was lovely....

I tried some more on and some were awful and some were ok.....
My Wedding Planner suggested I tried on some 'puffier' ones to which I was reluctant! I did though and Wow!
OMG it looked gorgeous..... I felt like a real bride lol. I went and stood on the box in front of the mirrors and my face just beamed!! I had the biggest smile on my face ever......

It was only £600 too and I've just spoken to my H2B and he says if I still love it when he comes home on the 22nd then to get the money out of the wedding account and do it!

The halter strap doesn't come with that dress. That was something we used to have a play with..... These pictures actually don't do the dress justice! It's a lot more sparkly in real life ❤️ I love it xx

I've not stopped ginning all day. The hardest part is not discussing it with the H2B. We FaceTime every day whilst he works away and not telling him all about it is soooo hard lol! I can just picture his face when I walk towards him !!! OMG stroll on 2016! I don't want to wait that long lol xx

I'm like that emmilou. I bought my dress earlier this year and I don't get married until 2016 either. Sometimes when I go pass the church we are getting in, I have a cheeky smile and imagine my h2bs face when I walk in. I really cannot wait and the day can't come soon enough :(.
