been literally crying all day and just needed somewhere to vent.
when i bought my dress i took it to a seamstress who was recommended to me, she did the usual alterations like the bust and length etc and for some reason when i got it the back panel wasn't big enough along the back once again because of my boobs (i had a boob job 4 years ago so they don't squish down) and she's had the dress for weeks now and i picked the dress up a last week and today my first chance to go to my mums and try it on......well once again the gap was there at the back and when we looked it was a different panel but the same length as the original one so she hasn't done it right anyway before we noticed this as my mum was threading the ribbon through the corset loops 3 of the loops snapped in half out of the material.....when i heard the sound i knew what it was straight away and my mum was like Omg they've just snapped (its a ronald joyce dress so wouldn't expect this) so my mum rang the boutique to say the dress has ripped at the back and they said because i went to a different seamstress that they cant offer a refund or a replacement because the dress has been compromised! so my mum checked if they had dresses in that we could just buy off the rail in the big puffy style i like and they said yes they have a sale rail and to pop down and see what they had tomorrow at 1.(this fills me with dread because I'm thinking the worse thats on these sale rails)

after this call i rang the seamstress and explained that the panel was no different even though i paid for it and the loops had snapped could she do anything? she said to bring it down tomorrow at 10am and she will take a look.

so I'm literally panicking my heart out and cant stop crying as it stands right now i don't have a dress for my wedding in 8 days! I'm worried that if the seamstress cant sort it that it might just happen again on the morning and then I'm screwed and at the appointment tomorrow I'm stuck only having the choice of the few they have left on a sale rail. i literally don't know what to do all my friends keep saying it will be ok but its not their wedding day its not them without a dress so they don't understand.

For starters, don't panic, it is the seamstress's mistake, she needs to rectify it, and she has plenty of time to do this. Do not go and look at dresses first as if it is not the same you won't be happy with it as you have your dream dress.

The seamstress is the one who is in the wrong here so taking it back to her to fix is the right thing to do. she has plenty of time to fix it so try not to worry xx Easier said than done I know but it will be for the best.

when you go to the dress shop maybe reserve one. no point buying when chances are the seamstress can sort your dream dress xx

If you don't trust the seamstress to fix it then I would try to find another with a better reputation. There will be someone who can fix it so I don't think there's any need to buy a new dress xx

Just don't stress yet, everything will work out believe me :) I had no dress until 4 days before as I had total drama/alterations issues and my sister was still having her dress altered the day before so you have time! x

I'm sure everything will be fine. Take it back to the seamstress, she has plenty of time to fix it. Try to calm down, I know easier said than done but you don't want to be getting in a tizzy this close to your wedding x

I'm sure the seamstress will sort it out. If necessary stand over her and make sure she does it right this time.

    hi ladies,

Thank you for your words of reassurance.
i took the dress down to seamstress this morning and assured me that she will sort out the back of the dress and will have it ready for me saturday afternoon she didn't mention that she didn't put in a bigger panel we will see if she tries to charge me for it saturday- so now its just the waiting game! she said to me that i wouldn't need to get another dress and that it will be fine...i don't think i will have any nails left by the weekend I'm on tender hooks not having my dress :-S
    xx
