    Hi Kelly,

You could start looking for venues now, places get booked up quickly. I haven't got my dress yet but I know some other girls have, I suppose if you find "the one" just go with it :)

    Welcome and congrats xx

You will struggle to find a dress until you try it on as the style you love in pics might not suit you when you try it on.

Venues I would start looking now. Need to decide if you want a religious or civil ceremony and then go from there. I would put together a budget and initial guest list as both will make a difference when looking at venues x

Best of luck with the planning!! xx

I would normally say venue first if it's a weekend date, but as you have picked a Wednesday, weekdays don't book up as quickly, and sometimes offer some amazing packages (if this is what you're looking for). We got married on a Tuesday at an exclusive wedding venue, and saved £10k by not having it at the weekend. I would look at venues first though, as once that/registrar is booked, it sets it all in stone nicely for you to plan everything else x

You can start looking at both now, but don't commit until you are absolutely 100% that you won't change your mind. If your venue is popular it's worth booking early, but for a weekday it shouldn't be too likely to book up. Some venues won't let you book this far in advance anyway. It is worth booking once you are sure, because then your date is confirmed.

As for dresses, have lots of fun trying on different styles, but again don't commit this far in advance unless you fall in love with something. It's good to spend lots of time trying dresses, as you might be surprised what suits you and what doesn't.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

I'd say get looking at venues, visit them and decide which one best suits your wedding needs. As for dresses, have an open mind, don't go in saying I want this kind of dress, so many go for one that least expect, happy planning,

I've got a rough idea what I lie in a dress but not tried any on yet- I guess when you start trying things on you soon figure what suits you
