Just out of interest; how much is everyone paying/paid for their dress alterations?

As silly as it sounds; my family and I are convinced that my particular bridal shop were in partnership with the dress alteration woman as there were quite a few B******x bags at her work room and all three of us needed alterations. I always knew I would need a modesty bow as they ordered the bust too big... but there is no way my bridesmaid and maid of honour have put on much weight to make their dresses tight. My poor sister was in floods of tears thinking she had got fat which was untrue.

Sorry for the rant but it just peeved me off. It's costing me £120 in total so no sure if that is average or not as I did set aside £80 but my parents argued that they were paying - an argument I would never win so gave up :P

Did you get your dresses from b3rk3rt3x? The alterations packages there are fixed regardless of what you have done. My sister got her dress from there and the alterations were a fixed price for a package.

I went to an independent seamstress recommended by the boutique I got my dress from and the charges were really low.

Fair enough; yeah it was from there; we didn't get offered package; she just said it was £35 for the two girls and £50 for me.

I paid £80 for my alterations. I did not need much, needed it taking it a little around the bust and taken up a little bit. She was sorry she had to charge me that much but as the taking up involved the lace part of my dress it was time consuming.

My bust needs taking in and an inch or so off length (already paid for "measured length"-getting it made to short length basically) and its still too long lol

I have a belt they are taking aome beads off cos they go to far round and get caught up in the bow at the back when tied and also a bustle and loop just incase i want that dhe said about 5 hrs max (the belt is actually taking the longest!) £20 an hr so max of £100
i budgeted 150 cos i had no idea how long alterations wud take haha! Just means ive extra for bridesmaids alterations if needed i have set aside £100 for them so total of 3 dress alts i put 250 away lol in hoping to come bk with SOME change

Our bridesmaids dresses are from b-....tex they charged us £100 each dress fixed price. So that's £300.

My dress is from a different shop and its £265 for alterations, hem, strap shortening, bust threading and bustle.
My dress is heavily embellished which is why it works out more as they have to hand sew the crystals back in place.

That's actually not a bad price! I paid just over £200 for my dress and 3 BMs and they all needed a fair bit doing to them. I did expect it to be more tbh so was pleased.
