Hey Everyone :) We sent our Save the Date cards back in June via email (so not confident everyone got it) But now our original venue is being closed down so we have to find another one. The deal we got was amazing. But now looking at other venues with a similar packages, they don't cater for the amount of people we had originally, it is a lot less. we cant afford any more than what we had already budgeted for. If it comes to downsizing our guest list how do we go about it? Do we let the people know we are cutting them or just leave it? If we do how do we word it so they don't get offended? All advice is welcome. Thanks in advance! xx

i once got a save the date but didn't get an invite ....tbh i wasn't offended i just presumed that things had changed
Personally I would let them know, my gran had got given a STD once and got no invite and was really upset about the fact they did not even let her know.
Just give them a little message saying that due to unforeseen circumstances you have had to change venue and the new venue does not have the capacity for the amount of guests you originally planned on, and would of loved to have you there but we have alot of family that have to have priority first. hope you understand. (And if your are able still invite them to the evening doo)

I think people are different in how they view stuff as some might not be bothered about not hearing anything further whilst others might be a bit miffed. Like Whovianbride2b mention with a message people should understand. Another reason is if they didn't make the cut and no longer part of your day the fact they have been told save the date might mean they have said no to other events which if it turns out they are no longer part of your day could end with them upset and annoyed .
