Hiya and welcome to the site, please take some time to read the rules and introduce yourself on the introduction thread, and don't forget add your date to the calendar,

I think you need to look first at the size of your guests, then you can view venues, start thinking about colour schemes and dress hunting.

Hi Natalie, congrats and welcome :) have you thought about what kind of wedding you'd like? Would you like to get married in a church, a hotel, outside... etc?? Once you have a venue everything else will click into place.. you'll be able to work out a budget and sit down and work out how much you can save each month xx

I think start off with the first two main things. When and where.
Will you be wanting a church?
Will you be wanting somewhere for the ceremony and separate evening party function?
When you have figured out what you want it's time to get looking at the area you want to get married and start checking out a few of the local venues.
Once you have a date things start falling in to place.

Hey to uk bride. I defiantly agree with the other ladies about budget. Once you have got a realistic budget you will be able to plan for the type of wedding you want. Once you have go you budget I would book the venue ASAP as they can get booked up 18 months in advance!
Please remember that you don't have to have a huge budget to have a great wedding, lots of people have great wedding on small budgets :). Xx

Welcome and congratulations! As others have said the thing to start with is definitely your budget, once you have decided on that you could start to look around some venues, get prices etc and get it booked as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Then get the big things out of the way like photographer, entertainment etc x

You'll probably find some family members offer some kind of financial help as well. We initially calculated everything as if we were paying for the whole thing ourselves, then any help was a bonus x

Welcome along, and congratulations. I felt like that too, just didn't know where to start. I began with trawling the internet for ideas. Getting my ideas noted down, no matter how jumbled up they were. Start a spreadsheet with things you will need and need to do, with both estimated and actual costs

Definitely create a spreadsheet.. mine is my best friend at the moment! It's quite scary seeing all the costs written down in one place but it's satisfying being able to tick things off :) keeps me organised for sure x

Yeah I don't know what I'd do without my spreadsheets! It is scary but it's also great to see the amount left to pay going down :) You are able to keep on top of everything and also work out how much you can save so it's good for budget setting too x

Welcome!!!! My biggest piece of advice is honestly ENJOY the process. The wedding is 1 day, but the lead up (at least for me) has been 1.5 years. The whole process of planning is magical and fun and full of really special moments. There are tense ones too but so many special memories get made and its just wonderful!!

We started our wedding plan conversation with where and when, followed very quickly by budget. After that the venue search was on :)

Congrats on the engagement, we got engaged in dec and aren't gettinggmarried until dec next year. We started with a budget, then venue, MOH and best man and then I hit a wall. No florists, photographers, car companies or bakers had prices on their website, so I hit the local wedding fair. Loads of local suppliers with lots of leaflets with estimated prices. So much easier and less daunting :)
