Could anyone please recommend where I can get cheap disposable cameras? The best price I have found is on Con&%$ti for £4.49 each. My groom keeps saying that we should just go to a pound shop but I don't know if those cameras would be as good? I agree that we need to get them at the best price possible but at the same time I would like nice cases and those nice cards that can go with them. Recommendations anyone?

Has anyone else given out disposable cameras at their wedding or are planning to? A little bit of me worries that no one will use them but I love the idea of guests taking their own photos. Any ideas about collecting them back in?

Thank you ladies! Big love! <3

I did this for my first wedding - we only got about half of them back after the reception (I think some people took them with or they ended up in the bin with the buffet plates etc) and not all of the photos came out great. I have heard also that people can be over zealous with the winder so only actually get a few photos out of one camera.

So personally I think they're not worth it now, especially as most people have camera phones/digital camera which take much better photos. You can request that anyone attending share any photos taken with you (before sharing anywhere else) which I think would work much better (and would be cheaper).

If you did get the disposables then just be prepared to only get 25% of photos taken back.

One of my brothers did this, and the kids loved them. They were brilliant for keeping kids occupied who didn't want to dance. You aren't guaranteed any level of quality in the photos though. I think they just asked people to leave them on the tables and either the chief bridesmaid or best man collected them up. So many people will bring cameras with them or take photos on their phones that you may not need disposable cameras, as long as people share or email their photos with you.

I've found from other weddings I've attended that it's the children who use them most (especially my children!) But like Elinor said, most people will have a camera of some sort with them. We've found a free app that you can set up an account on and give a special code to your guests so they can upload all of their pics for you. Looks quite good, it's called W3dp1cs. x

Thank you for the input ladies, its so helpful! You all have just saved me a lot of money!

I will check out that app SusanM, thank you for the suggestion. There are no children at my wedding so perhaps the app would be a better idea :)

someone on here the other day was saying she'd found some cheep selfie sticks which she planned on putting on the tables for people to take selfies and then send them to her I thought this was an amazing idea, might be worth looking into if you want to encourage people to have fun whilst taking photos!

Personally I love the idea of disposable cameras, I'm definitely looking into having them, I've also seen the ones on c0n£e^^ti, [email protected]@t$ have packs of 5 you can get for like 20p more but there's more photos on them and they're wedding themed :)

if you put one on each table and number them, you can keep track on which is which so you can tell who nabbed :P

I think they'll be great once people get drunk you'll get some funny photos :)
Considering that pro photographers only stay till the first dance xoxo

If you want to go for them I'm sure the £1 shops sell them, especially as you get nearer to summer. You could have a box for the cameras to go in once they have been used up and you could put this next to your card box?
I went to a wedding where they'd bought a new polaroid camera and everyone took photos and stuck them in the guest book, that could be better as then no one would nab the camera?
