I live in flat shoes. Trainers are my general wear. But for my wedding I'd love to wear high heel shoes, make me feel abit more girly and elegant. I'm 5ft so would love to add abit of height but the only problem is when I do wear high heel shoes for special occasions, my feet hurt. After maximum 2 hours I have to take my shoes off because the sole of my feet are in a numb pain. How am I going to cope on my wedding day?! I don't want to be a small bride :-( Anyone have a suggestions please?

I would start wearing your wedding shoes for a few hours every few days then increase it more and more til you get use to it. I have a bad knee so don't wear high heels anymore! But have bought mid heel for wedding as they aren't too high but high enough plus made sure I bought myself a comfy pair. And remember you will be sitting down during the day too :) or a lot of ppl,have heels for the day then change into sparkly trainers in the evening x

A hidden platform can really help. I'm really tall and have small feet and find that the only heels that are comfortable have a hidden platform. I also love wedges, because they offer more support and are more comfortable.

There are a lot of ladies that also wear heels for the more formal bit and then swap for the evening, so will put on some pretty flats to dance in :) I think this is what I'll be doing as I'm the same as you, I hardly ever wear heels x

If you aren't used to heels don't be over ambitious with the heel height and end up with skyscrapers. Try something more mid range that will be comfier for longer. A wedge may also be a good choice but whatever you do, definitely get some practice in them! X

I don't wear heels but wanted to wear them for the wedding so I've bought some peep toe wedding shoes from the British home of stores and they've got a memory foam insole as my feet hurt in heels too. I've bought some diamante flip flops for when they do hurt at the reception x

I had a small platform on my wedding shoes, gorgeous peep toes and with a 2.5 inch heel and the platform they were so comfy, not a single bit of uncomfortableness all day and evening.

Don't go for silly height heels, go for a nice kitten heel and platform then wear them in around the house with thin socks on.

I'd try and wear heels as much as possible between now and the big day so you get used to wearing them. I LOVE wearing heels but my feet do always hurt after a couple of hours so I know what you mean! Sometimes it helps me to have a strap on the shoe to help keep them on my feet because I sometimes find that my feet get a bit hot and sweaty, so makes it hard walking along trying to keep them on my feet as well as trying not to fall over etc. lol.

Like the others have said I'd maybe go for a mid height heel.

I think mine are about 4 inches which is maybe higher than I should have gone for but love them so much. I will probably kick them off through the wedding breakfast to give my feet a break and have no doubt I will be going around shoe-less in the evening!!

I live in flats too, mainly because they are more comfortable but also because I'm already very tall. I am wearing about a 3 inch heel for the wedding and I am planning on wearing heels as much as possible between now and then. even just in the house, to get myself used to them. I would try a mid height heel or even a lower one, then they won't be too high for you and shouldn't hurt as much xx

I love my heels and could live in Skyscrapers but have gone for 4 inch heels for the wedding. ,maybe look more like 2-3 if your not used to wearing them. I would strongly advise looking at actual bridal shoes rather than just general heels as they are more padded because u are expected to wear them longer. But definitely have some pretty flats ready for the evening xx

You can get insoles which shift the weight back off the balls of your feet, they have been scientifically proven and i love mine then are called insolia or something like that

I wore my shoes for the ceremony, and as soon as we got outside for photo's my sandals went on. Nobody noticed, and it made no noticeable difference to the length of my dress

just while on the subject of shoes has anyone used i think there clear heels which protect your heels from the mud etc.wondered if they were any good? x

I mostly wear flats but like to feel a bit taller for special occasions. I had 3 inch heels which were no problem until well into the evening, I had been wearing them around the house a lot and doing the washing up wearing them etc so I got used to walking and standing in them.
