    Hi all ,
Well I have finally pinned a day that me and my two best friends can go shopping :) the plan is to treat ourselves by getting the train and spending the day shopping for both wedding and normal clothes and a spot of lunch . Now I was excited about it but for some reason I'm getting nervous about it and I don't know why :( did any of you lovely ladies feel like this ? Any tips when starting shopping for the dress ?
    Thanks x

yeah i was nervous...it was fine though...just make sure the first time you try on lots of different styles even if they aren't what you have in mind because you might surprise yourself! I went with a dress that is pretty much everything I said I didn't want! Wear a strapless bra if possible and try to avoid black underwear. And don't do too many shops in one day! I found it so tiring getting dresses on and off all day and i think you get a bit overwhelmed if you see too much in one go. Defo a good idea to break it up with lunch! just relax and have fun with your girls... :)

Good advice there kitty. I'll also be taking it on board. Haven't set a date for it but will be some time in August I think. I'm so fussy though (literally don't like anything that I've seen) so I'm hoping I don't feel like I'm annoying people although refuse to get something I'm not a million percent happy with.

Beth, your day sounds like its going to be amazing! Good luck and most importantly have fun! Xxx

I felt a bit nervous as well at first, because I wasn't really sure what to expect, but the staff in the shops know what they're doing and will help you to find the right things to try on. They're well used to seeing what will suit a particular person.

Thanks all for replies :) I think my nerves are also to do with how I planned this 1st shop as a kid as it can't happen as my mum passed away 3 years ago suddenly and never dreamt she wouldn't be there at the shopping stage :( I do know though especially MOH she will tell me the truth if it's good or bad which I will need lol
Ha thanks about the advice about underwear too I most prob would of worn my I love elmo pants and bra lol x

There's nothing to be nervous about, it's so much fun! I wish my dress shopping last longer, I only went to one shop and my dress was the 4th I tried on. Definitely wear a strapless bra and some nice knickers! Probably the only advice you need. Have fun! X

A couple of weeks ago I had dress shopping with my bridesmaids for their dresses and though I was nervous about them getting along (it was the first time any of them had met) I needn't have worried because they got on so well that even my FSIL who was dreading the whole thing as it's two things she hates the most, dresses and shopping, had a brilliant time laughing with other two.

Aww that's nice that they all get on . I'm having a MOH who hates dresses but as she is now engaged she knows she will be dress shopping soon too . MY other friend is an ushermaid lol so she isn't quite bridesmaid dress . We have 4 flowergirls/bridesmaids but as they are all under 10 we keeping that until later on in the year and they are sisters and cousins so a little less stress there lol

I was very nervous when I went dress shopping. I don't really do dresses so I was WAY out of my comfort zone! It was absolutely fine though :o) I went to three shops and chose the last dress I tried (after trying about 15 dresses and thinking I'd found the one and changing my mind).

My top tip would be to make sure that you don't get pressured into choosing something you're not happy with. You'll be the one wearing it all day.

    Good luck!
