Hi everyone, I'm getting married in November in cuba, been engaged for nearly 5 years, set a budget ect, and now we have been told that we have to spend £820 on getting documents translated, after we were told that they would be £30 each then another £88, we have nearly finished paying for the wedding, but the documents have to be done in 4 weeks and we don't have the spare cash to do it, seriously thinking about going to the registry office the day before we go just to save nearly £1000, and then renew our vows on our actually wedding day! Does anyone think that this is a good idea as I really don't want to start our marriage in debt! X

    Hey,
I'm also getting married in Cuba, next April and I know no knowledge of having documents translated! Who told you you had to have them translated and also who gave you the quote? If I were you, I would definately double check all of this!
My OH and I purposely didn't choose to get married in the Dominican Republic because of the translation fees!
    Best of luck
    xx

Id double check as my dad got married in cuba last year and never mentioned having to pay loads for document translation. he is a tight fisted kinda block and defo would not have paid that much.
If it is true then id go for your second option, save yourself loads. xx
