just had a call from H2B stepmum. she has bought my daughter a pair of those toddler stilleto things for her 2nd b.day!!!!!!!! ARGHHHHHHHHH. she hasnt had any experience with small children at all, how do i tell her they are inapropriate? xxx
oh dear :s 2 is a bit young for things like that. i let my 5 yrs old wear little heels for dress up but 2 is definatly too young. do you hav to say something to her? couldnt you pretend theyre nice to spare her feelings? if not, just tell her straight that theyre inapropriate but thank her for the thought. ? x
Just say "thats really nice of you but they aren't something i would put her in just yet"
Ask her if she would mind changing them, or go with you to Clarks to get her a proper pair of shoes that are more suitable for her feet x
Edit - also tell her that toddlers feet are not fully developed and by putting them in heels you are running the risk of serious foot problems when she gets older. The foot and ankle is very delicate at this age and needs to develop naturally - sticking these hideous heels on them will do damage. :-D

i don't like them.. i don't think it's right they should be in flats till there feet develop then give them a choice when they are old enough...
CommentAuthorohfiddles
i thought they were bad enough when they were made for prewalkers, like soft pram shoes in high heel shape. but it has gone too far i think xx
CommentAuthoralibum
YUCK is all i can say to those !!! just be honest with her and like Goff said the development of feet is so important in a children.xxx

CommentAuthorJennyBean
....seriously? heels for 2 year olds and push up bras for 10 year old?!....that's unbelievable...
CommentAuthorKelley
i would never put my daughter in heels at 2, i would be honest and say you think there inappropriate as she is only 2. It could cause more probs in the long run if you hid the fact that you think there inappropriate.
CommentAuthorsbride
Oh no! major tackiness! I wouldnt let my daughter wear anything thing like that until she is old enough to go out and buy them herself!
I am now Mrs Stacey Stiles and loving it!
CommentAuthorShellster90
I'd tell her straight... maybe slightly awkward but it can be said nicely... least then she wont think you like them and keep buying your daughter them lol. What is this world coming to buying a 2 year old heels?? Jeeze! Lol!
CommentAuthorMrs Daltry
omg no,just tell her thats children so young shouldnt were shoes like that as it can damage their spines and its no good for their posture and causes problems later in life,my daughters 11 and i still wont let her wear heels

Nope I agree with you Dove....
Has anyone seen how Katie and Tom Cruise let their little girl dress.. each to their own I know but I'm really not a fan of heels and make up and generally making a little girl not look like a little girl anymore... keep them as young as long as you can they have the rest of their lives to be grown up.
CommentAuthorMrs Daltry
alisha is only 11 and i kept her little as long as i could ,i wanted her to enjoy her childhood, since starting senior school iv notices alot of changes in her,,,but she still acts her age and not older,,,her fave thing at the moment is perfume,,,and belts!!!!,unlike alot of her frieinds who favour makeup and faketan

My dad would have had a fit if I tried anything like that! And my parents were quite lenient- as long as I told them where I was going and who with as was back for dinner (and didn't miss Music practices) I could do what I wanted at weekends at that age... (within reason obviously!)

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against kids taking care to look neat and tidy... just think they should be kids.

CommentAuthorMrs (Dove) Pidgeon
Is he in mainstream education or does he need more help? I worked with some autistic kids (slightly older) when training as a teacher and it was one of the most rewarding parts of the job! (sorry if you don't want to discuss it). My special project was about making Science education more accessible.
