    Hi all!
I get married next year and paid the deposit for the church last year.
The vicar didn't have any costs for 2015 as he said the Church of England hadn't set the prices yet. Have any of you received confirmed prices for church weddings in 2015 and can I be cheeky and ask how much you are paying?
I've been told that the organist, choir and bell ringers are all extra, but have no idea of what I should be expecting.
    Thank you x

Ours gave us prices for 2014 and said prices would be released in Jan for next year, you'll have to speak to your vicar though anyway as they do vary from Church to Church

It differs from church to church, one quoted us over £1000, another £500.

One even turned us away as we are different religions (both Christian but he's Greek Orthodox and I'm c of e) we opted for the Greek church in the end. More welcoming and not so archaic in their views in Camden.

Thanks so much! It's just difficult to know what to budget for. I'm hoping that in a couple of months I'll have the exact figure but it's nice to have a realistic approx to pop into my budget so I don't overspend in other areas!! x

If you go on the CofE website it should have next years prices for the actual ceremony on there, but the various parishes will change these to suit them, it but definitely wont be less than what is on the CofE website as that is the minimum it can be. We were only given our price in January this year so you wont know your exact costs until the January of the year you marry I'm afraid but ours are charging £650 but that is without choir, bell ringers or flowers. Hope that helps xxx

We booked ours in March last year and were told that the prices may go up for 2015, but it was roughly £700. We also have to pay extra for bells etc. We've also been told that we don't need to pay for the church until much nearer the wedding, so we'll have to make sure we've got the money set aside!

We are getting married in May 2015 and had our first meeting with our reverend last night. The costs for 2015 are not available until January next year but we were told it should not differ to much and that it is the legal costs that will go up and the others may stay there same.

Here's the breakdown we got for our church:

Compulsory legal fees - wedding service £392 - reading of the banns £21 - marriage
    certificate registration £4

    Necessary church fees - heating £75 - verger £35 - wedding preparation day £25 - flowers £85

    Optional extras - organist £100 - bells £125 - choir £125

The heating is something they can omit but not until the week of the wedding due to changeable weather so fingers crossed this could be returned.

Basically the total for the necessary for us is £637 and then whatever extras we want on top.

Hope that helps and gives you an idea.
