I'm confused as who to put on my top table. I know the traditional top table includes parents, best man and bridesmaid.
I don't think my h2b wants his mums new husband to sit up there. I don't want the best man to sit up there and have two adult bridesmaid who would probably prefer to sit at the family tables.
Was thinking of having us and our 3 boys but don't know if that is separating us too much from the rest of the guests. I think my parents want to sit at the top table too but can't have one set without including my partners mum.

Have who you want, my mum is hosting her own table, as is ohs parents. One of my BMS is sitting with her hubby and son, and were having our best man, ushers , my other two BMS and then some other friends and cousins.

I think that's a great idea having you, your husband and 3 boys at the top table. That's the way I would have done it if I was having a top table but were not having one. (Were doing if all a bit informal)

I think it will be a lot less stress and then u get to have your time as a family and a chance to take it all in. I'm sure your parents will understand. It's so hard to please everyone.

Have whoever you want and whatever you feel comfortable with :) there is on 'tradition' anymore as people have much more complex families these days which can make it difficult! We are having our parents and the best man - I will be having 4 adult bridesmaids who will be at a different table and we are not having our parents' partners at the top table (we have two step mums and a step dad between the two of us) x

    Have whatever makes you happy.

Have you also thought about maybe having a sweetheart table? This is just you and your OH, I've seen this done at a few weddings and it's very romantic. Personally for me though, we're having it a bt formal but slightly different. Reason being is I don't have parents so my side will have BMS while OH's side will be balanced with his best man, mum and dad.
