Well I hope not! I'm having red and white with a purple ribbon.

I have heard that giving someone who is ill in hospital a bunch of red flowers is bad luck (supposed to represent blood) but I though you could have any colours you wanted at a funeral.

And to be fair the standard colours at the chapel we are getting married at are red, white, pink or a any combination of the three. I would have thought it was weird they would let you choose funeral colours for a wedding straight off the bat.

Hey it depends how superstitious you? Red and white are linked with blood and bandages which is why is hospitals you never see just a bunch of red and white flowers. I'm surprised a florist didn't say anything? Red and cream is fine tho!

However I'm not superstitious in the slightest so I would say go with what you like :-)

Exactly, as I said only superstitious people say it, it's in the same league as you shouldn't see the groom 24 hours before the wedding, or the groom shouldn't see the dress etc- it's your wedding so gave what you like! I personally think red and white look nice together too x

Red is considered good luck in my culture so we had loads of red at our wedding, it was the main colour at our wedding and we used gold and ivory with it.

Married the love of my life on Saturday 11th May 2013 xxx
Had our dream perfect honeymoon in Hawaii!

Red and white/cream has to be one of the most popular colour combinations for weddings!

I would consider yellow a more traditional colour for funerals. Don't worry about it. Have what you want and ignore silly superstitious people

I'm having red roses and white gerberas

    Met in 2009
    He proposed Jan 2014
    Will become Mrs P 7th October 2017

I've never heard that. When I was bridesmaid for my sister in law we had red roses, and she had red and white. I'd say it's actually quite a popular choice for weddings.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

I personally only avoid white and red carnations as I associate them with with my grandad's funeral - ut not because of funerals in general. The reason we had them was because he was a Scouser and a massive Liverpool fan.

It's the same for any garden/wedding/funeral - you should have flowers that you love or have a special meaning to you :)

    Started dating: 10th February 2011
Welcomed our little girl: May 2015
    I proposed: 23rd December 2015
    I finally become Mrs R 17th August 2017

My parents had red and yellow roses. My sister had white calla lillies with a red rose in the middle and I'm looking at having 'mango' calla lillies. You have which ever colours you like :-)
