We went out and bought my other half a beautiful charcoal grey suit for the wedding but it cost over £300 and we would never expect the groomsmen to spend that much. So I have been looking EVERYWHERE to try and find charcoal grey suits for around £60 as my brothers and other half brothers are all looking at wearing the same colour. We also need to find it in boys as have a 13 yr old, 2x 5yr olds and a 2 yr old. So should I keep searching til I find a colour as close as possible or would it matter if the colour for men and boys was darker or lighter grey? I think I have found he boys on @mazon but not sure if they are a good company or not but really stuck for the men as need tailored and slim fit in same colour!

I don't think it matters if the colours are slightly different - in fact, I think it looks lovely when the groom stands out as the groom. My OH is wearing a navy suit and the groomsmen and my dad are going to be in light grey. I think different shades of grey would look lovely.
Have you tried N3xt? We found them to be the most affordable/realistic but knowing you get good quality too. And they come in a range of different sizes and fits. OH wanted his dad and his brother in slim fit, but my dad is too bulky for slim fit so we were able to get him exactly the same suit but in a tailored fit xx

Have you thought about renting?
Or M@t@l@n? They do cheap good suits, but does it really matter that he will stand out as being the groom in a different suit to the groomsmen? No need for them to be the same suit

They all need new suits anyway so thought buying would be better spend of money. Have tried m@t@l@n but they don't do it in dark grey buy might go back and see if they have it in a different shade. Will also try n£xt again. Just worry about pictures online as can't really tell what colour it is. Do you think ordering from @m@z0n would be ok for the boys as found some for £35-£45 and they look quite nice x

As you say, colours can be deceiving online, if no good, send back
As GF says, you can always return them if they're no good. I think it's quite common to get the little ones' suits online - I don't see why it would be a problem. You don't want to pay a fortune for something that's bound to get dirty etc anyway - you know what boys are like! xx

Would the online shop send you a swatch so you can check the colour? I do agree though that they don't have to be the same colour, and it is nice when the groom stands out.

I'm speaking with the in laws about the boys so can look at ordering them but not going to hold my breath when they haven't even replied to my message but hey ho. X

I think it's nice for the groom to stand out in all honesty. My OH is hiring tails from M0$$ Br05 and we were talking the other evening and we think we're going to go for him in a navy tail jacket and contrasting trousers with the rest of the party wearing navy tail and navy trousers. I've also ordered him a special button hole too - again so he stands out from the others.
So to answer your question, I really don't think it would matter if their suits don't all match :-)

I think your all right :) have decided to tell all the men about the ones that would go with it and let them choose if they buy one or not, they will all be wearing navy blue ties ( if they go with the suit) so not sure how to have the oh stand out as don't really want him wearing a different colour tie although we will have dusky pink in the flowers so not sure if to get them all in the pink and him in blue :/ or just go with blue x

My hubby had a grey suit, all the other men had black, we just matched the colour of the tie. He had a cravat and his dad a normal tie and my dad and brother had bow ties. I think they look fabulous. His best man was a woman! And she wore a similar colour to the bridesmaids. It's nice for the groom to stand out, he should have his moment too!

(Sorry forgot about this thread) We are sorting ties out and not sure who is ment to wear the wedding colour ties? And is it ok that they all have the same colour as worry oh won't stand out but don't think any of them would be fans of being in pink especially oh and I'm not a fan of white on white so not sure how he can stand out as only colour we have is navy blue and bit of pink. Didn't know I could bookmark my threads tbh, didn't mean to clog up the forum, feeling quite deflated as finding people aren't commenting on the posts that I add to on the end. And I realise they are both talking about suits but this one was about suits where as the other was ties so assumed they were different subjects. But will go and bookmark my threads now and see if I can get advice that way

Could your oh be in a different waist coat to the other male wedding party? All ours are going to be in the same hired navy tails with yellow cravat but we are thinking of having oh in a pale yellow waist coat and others in white/navy.
Go online to d38enh@ms you can build a suit and change colours of things to get an idea of what it would look like
CommentAuthorMrsC2bee
Oh has his suit as sort of splashed out on a really nice one from m0ss and really like it with the waistcoat and others are using their own suits with same colour waistcoats already, would having a different colour hanky work so you think? Or just a bigger button hole? X
CommentAuthorEmily17
I would get hankies to match ties or it may look a little odd. It's only the tie in pink so not sure what the issue would be there if I'm honest. If you want them differs I'd just get them pink ties x

That's true, might run it by them if not they'll just have to all have navy ( oh not too bothered if they are all the same) just worry about him not standing out :/
CommentAuthorEmily17
He will stand out because he is the Groom anyway.

How about having the rest in pink and him in a complimenting colour or a white with pattern tie? My OH is having a white tie with a lilac pattern, the rest are having full lilac ties. Waistcoats will be a plain colour I would think.

I like that idea Faye! Sounds lovely
