I didnt get coloured but must admit, that I want a blue diamond (pale blue) for our 5 year mark. I have already picked it :) its very vintage. Hubby to be asked if I can have it in topaz instead but somethign about a number for hardness (something like other than diamond and one other stone it is too soft for wear every single day). I had never heard this before so hubby to be not overly impressed hahaha!

I wanted a sapphire, and tried on the most gorgeous one in H Samulels, it looked great with a plain gold wedding ring too...... We put a deposit on it, and H2B never said a word......but when we got home he told me that although he thought the ring was beautiful, he really didnt want me to have a sapphire as that is what his Ex Wife had had.......I wasnt long going in to the shop and cancelling the order. I got a diamond solitaire.....which I love. But I am toying with the idea of buying that sapphire ring as a right hand ring, and wearing it as my something blue....its quite apt too as its H2Bs birth stone.

Mine is a 2.75ct sapphire with two 0.35ct diamonds to accent it. I adore sapphires in engagement rings (blue is my fave colour, can you tell lol). Each to their own but imo coloured stone engagement rings are just more interesting (not that I'd ever turn down a D coloured diamond haha!). Not sure whether to get coloured stones set in my wedding ring or leave it plain.. Xx
