Having just picked my dress, its time to start looking at shoes! Im not a big shoe person, but i was thinking a kitten heel or something would be ok.

The colour theme i am going for is cadburys purple. BM's dresses and a few other odds and sods will be that colour. As my dress is all ivory, i was thinking of having purple shoes to match the theme. Is this something that could work? Has anyone done this before?

Year I don't see why not, is you dress long? If so then people won't see your shoes any way. It will make for some fun photoes :). Xx

Yeah its a full length dress so i dont think you would see them when im walking etc. Thats the only thing thats putting me off the idea, but i thought it might be a little fun. Im not sure what i wanted to do with shoes but one of the BMs mentioned coloured shoes.

Aww, see the fact that you can't really see the shoes when walking is what I like, it's like my own little secret thing that people only see if I decide to show them lol xx

My colours are the same, I thought about purple shoes, I think it will look fantastic.

Although I settled on purple sparkly flats for the evening as I found a pair that matched my dress that I loved.

I think coloured shoes are awesome! Definitely do it. Cadbury purple ones should be easy to find, otherwise you can buy ivory ones and then get them dyed.

I bought r@inb0w clu8 avanti shoes and I received a special offer booklet inside the box. As long as I chose one of their 10 standard colours all I had to pay was the postage and I got them dyed for free!

Yes that sounds awesome :) I am also thinking about having coloured shoes. I love my shoes so I want more of a 'statement' shoe I think :) alternatively, if you search the web for companies that make bespoke wedding shoes for you, there are some that offer coloured soles so you can still have your standard ivory but have a bit of a 'pop' and something different at the same time :) x

A friend of mine had the same theme but theres was a hell of alpt of purple lol and it was a very tastefully done diy wedding... she used her mams dress and had it restyled and cut short into 1950s style dress so she had a purple underskirt iron fist ivory and diamonte skull shoes during the say then night time she had purple converse lol and all the lads the whole day wore purple converse.
    Her bms wore purple

Tbh i first thought oh bad idea so much purple but then i saw pics and was like wow it really did look good vow she fit it all together without looking wayyyy to ott

My theme is ivory peach and gold for the formal type bits (dresses flowers cake suits etc) then come reception we are doing table colours so atm we have 9 colours and top table of gold and ivory lol :-)

Rainbow shoes wud be great haha bt i already have my shoes xx

I am thinking about doing this! I am having lilac and lemon as the colour for our wedding and actually didn't realise I have a pair of purple shoes (although granted they are darker than the purple we are having for our wedding) upstairs which have lemon polka dots on the inside! I think it is a lovely contrasting idea. You could have purple shoes and get ivory shoes for your bridesmaids? Makes for a really good photo :) x

I'm having turquoise for our colour scheme and looked for some turquoise shoes for ages, but couldn't find any I loved.i ended up getting some gorgeous ivory ones but I'm really happy with them. I think coloured shoes look great in photos, especially with the dress hung up in prep photos x

Thanks for the advice girls! I like the ra1nb0w clu8 shoes Lynne! I quite like the idea of just having the soles coloured too! Still my concern is not seeing the shoes. Having a full length dress i doubt they will be seen :(

For me it wouldn't matter too much that they wouldn't be seen due to the dress covering them, but you could get some fab photos taken to show them off x

I agree with Flossie, the photos that you can get from it will be really good but if you want to show them off, you could always hitch your dress up a little when you walk ;) x
