    hi girlies!
i need to clean my tiara as im wearing it again for our church blessing, but its lost its sparkle and its caked in hairspray ;(
its got loads of crystals on it so it will be fiddly to do, i dont know if a regular jewellery cleaner will be safe to use on it as i supposed it will be classed as costume jewellery. i dont want to put it in water as it will prbably turn green and ruin it.
any ideas to get me twinkling again?
    thanks x

When I was a hairdresser we used methylated spirits to clean hairspray off mirrors etc, comes off easily but I would check that it wont tarnish it, a jeweller could tell you xx

oooh my mate works with enjo products - they're special cleaning cloths that don't use detergents....she went to clean a hair dresses mirror up and it took a few attempts to clean all the hairspray off but it worked. It absorbs grease and grime and doesn't put new chemicals on top of old ones or just rub them around like most cleaners do........if anyone wants a party demonstration let me know....
