So after many tears and decisions we have brought forward our wedding from December 2018 to August 2016 due to my dad being very unwell and the recent bad news given, the thing i want most is for my dad to see his only daughter get married and walk me down the aisle, unfortunately 3 years isn't a risk we can take as he is at stage 3 of lung cancer, suddenly I feel the pressure, have lots to do any tips or tricks anyone can give me? We are now having a very small wedding and budget Will be hiring a hall and decorating ourselves, so looking for the best deals around, our theme is Beauty and the Beast, it is very exciting and nerve wracking at the same time!! xxx

EDIT: CATEGORY SELECTED. PLEASE ENSURE YOU CHOOSE A CATEGORY WHEN OPENING FUTURE THREADS. MODS.

Thank you, he is in the best of health as can be currently, my partner did suggest may, but i cant do it all that quick it would be way to much stress and pressure on top of everything else.

So far all i have managed to get is my flowers at a lovely price, lady who is doing them as given me about £30 off, my wedding favour bags brought them even before the decision to move the date so thats something!

I plan on doing the invites myself and printing them onto card, my center pieces are looking about the same price of £15 each.
Dresses i will be keeping to a budget of under £400, but knowing my parents they wont let me go without my dream dress haha, but i refuse to rely on them for anything, but they want to help, my friend is making my wedding cake at just the cost of the ingredients and her cakes are lovely.

My chief bridesmaid has been an angel sent from above, shes asking around all the people she knows that can help out, her mum does catering so thats a bonus, you don't really realize how much there is to do until you start writing it all down!

Venue no - have put out some quotes and also to the church that my parents married in.

i did see a wedding dress on the bay but it is from china and people have told me that the dress im looking at is incredibly poor quality which is a huge shame, but taking my mum to London as i have heard there are some nice shops there at a bargain!

Its just knowing what to put in my favor bags! because we originally planned a Christmas wedding was going to put candy canes in them but now...i am at a loss!

Sorry to hear about your dad.

My sister and BIL managed to plan and organise their wedding in 6 months, it really can be done, it's just about being organised and also deciding if you're on a tight budget what you really want and what you can actually go without because in the grand scheme of things it won't actually be missed if you don't have it.

For our wedding favours we did a donation to charity (c@nc3r r353@rch) and then popped the donation cards in an envelope with a chocolate coin. It was more meaningful and we also felt that the money was actually being better spent.

Check out sample sales, you can get amazing dresses for a fraction of the RRP.

Hi, I'm really sorry to hear your awful news, however if it was me I Woukd get married sooner and go for March. Although this isn't far off as it is out of season you will get some bargain deals is hotels, some form deals for £999 for 30-50 people

I sadly lost my mum to cancer, I never even got the chance to shsre my engagement with her as within less than 3 months of receiving the diagnosis, she had breathed her last breath. I would hate for you not to be able to share your day with your dad. If you call in favours from people and delegate tasks yo everyone yiu will be able yo pull I together in a short space of time xxx

Thank you all for your kind words.

The idea of march would really freak me out - we will be saving as we go so the earliest we can marry is August to have a decent budget of £2500.

I have been pulling in a few favors and everyone has been so lovely and supportive so far, the only thing i don't want to cut costs on is my photographer because we want to capture the best day of our lives in the best way and not a rushed job, i am just awaiting the venues to get back to me with prices and availability to see if i can book it, then the rest should fall into place.
