There may already be a similar thread so apologies if there is - please feel free to bump for me if there is and close this one down.

I have just found some ideal birdcage tea light holders for our centre pieces.. just thinking about how many we would need to buy. Are you having/did you have a centre piece on the top table, or did you just decorate the top table in a different way? I.e. with Mr & Mrs sign/bunting etc... xx

We are only having a sweetheart table but we are having going to have the same centrepiece we are having on all table as well as a Mr & Mrs sign. We are just going to have it in front of us. I suppose it depends on how many people are on your table but I would say 2 or 3. x

Our centerpieces are quite big as we have ostrich feathers in a tall vase, so we are having a mr & mrs sign on ours instead. Lots of people go for flowers too. I think I'll have my bouquet on the top table as well and probably have it draping down the front.

We do have swag for the top table and cake table as well mind. X

These are quite tall (43cm) which is the reason I'm unsure about having one on the top table as it might look a bit strange? We are thinking of having the tables in a 'U' shape, so two long tables joining onto the top table, with a further table in the middle for my bms and their partners (if they are all partnered up by then!!). So I'm thinking 2 per long table (excluding top table) and 1 for the centre table xx

I don't know how tall ours are but we decided against one for top as you definitely wouldn't be able to see us, and we are the most Important people there ;) we have round tables though so one for each table x

We are having a sweetheart table and will move the flowers from the ceremony table onto the sweetheart table, so won't be having a centre piece :)

Haha, obviously!! ;) We will have an odd number of people on the top table too so it will work out that OH will actualyl be sat smack bang in the centre, rather than the centre being in the middle of me and OH.. so don't want to block him out ;) hehe

I think I'm leaning towards no centre piece for the top table, just thought I'd get the opinions of you lovely lot :) think we will definitely get a Mr & Mrs sign and some bunting to hang on the front of the table.. Just don't want it to look too busy.

i had the same talk today with my fiance, we are not having a centre piece on top table due to the horse shoe shape of our table, we just have two hurricane vases with a large church candle inside them, placed etheir side of the middle section of our table, alongside a mr and mrs sign.

just wanted it plain and simple.

We never had bird cages, but for the top table we had two and each other table we had one.

Our top table center piece was exactly the same as the other tables apart from a different flower was used to set it apart from the others. I like to keep things simple but some other weddings have something really spectacular for the top table.

We will be having minimal flowers and some wicker hearts and lovespoons hanging over front of table . I kinda want our top table different as we will be the centre pieces (if you get what I mean lol)

Thanks for your replies :) I guess anything goes then!

Although I showed OH the birdcages last night and he's not sure as he's worried they will be too tall and obscure people's views of each other :( I want to go to the shop and see them in person tonight.. fingers crossed he comes round, I love them and can imagine them fitting in perfectly in my head xx

On the top table, we just had small displays as our table decorator advised not to have anything tall so we could be seen. We had tall candelabra's on the other tables.
