has anyone got any ideas for vows for a civil ceremony, i just can't find any i like!!!

do a goo gle search for vows, there are loads of sites that will give tips on writing your own, or have a wide variety of vows you can use xx

i`d say write you own ,,just remember they cant have any religious references
Writing your own would be brilliant I think, makes everything that bit more special and personal. Just use ideas found in any you kind of like and make them unique to you. You can always phone the registrar for advice too.

I saw a wedding on tv once where the h2b wrote the vows for both him and his bride and I have to say it was extremely funny lol. His vows were romantic and her vows were really silly like "I promise to always let you have control over the tv. I promise to never nag you when you are playing video games. Etc there was some really funny ones in it but I can't remember them exactly but all their guests, even the celebrant was in stitches. I would love to do that myself but we are getting married in a church and its not appropriate for a church but had I been getting married in a civil ceremony I would have done that lol.
I think if you can't find any you like just do your own.

If you still wanted to have something a bit more personal, you could have a poem read, or even just read out a few lines yourself about what your other half means to you, without the pressure of having to incorporate it into your vows x

I agree try writing your own vows. We wrote ours. I thought it was going to be difficult but was pretty easy and made it really special, we kept them a secret from each other till the day too so was really nice to hear the husbands :)

Did your registry office not give you a pack, even if you don't like these they are a good starting point. What about incorporating the sand, candle, or rose ceremony into your vows x

we are getting married at our local registry office and the ones they have given us are a bit bland too they ok some of the bits are ok but the others are not all that nice but i dont know if we are allowed to write our own :( it really hard isnt it! they gave us so many options for various bits of the ceremony! xx
good luck hun x though i think if you can write your own it more special as they are coming straight from your heart and therefore mean more xx

Just write how you feel about him, copying of the internet is lazy. If you want to be lazy then just stick with the traditional vowels!

I would deffo reccomend writing them as we were told that all the exciting extras etc didnt compare to the personalisation of the vows and speeches.

wow those are lovely, i just know i will cry and not be able to say a lot, am spending most of my time getting teary over stupidness and we still have 82 days to go....ahhhhhhh. Diffinatley write your own wedding vows and get your H2B to do the same thats what Im doing i've already started mine and it will probably get bigger as i have another 3 years to go and a few months My H2B is like don't ask me to write them now he doesn't know where to begin and plus he is like we have ages to go ask me when the wedding is closer which is fair enough even thoe I was sulking after that talk Looool =D ♥ X
