Hi has anyone here had to cancel or change their wedding dress?
I found a lovely dress in November and bought it, but now have second thoughts and wish I'd gone for the other dress I tried on. It was down to these two anyway. They're both from the same designer just different styles.
I'm going into the shop Saturday to see what thay can do, my wedding isn't until October so still got 8-9 months to go.
Wondering if anyone had any experiences with having yo do this?

I think there have been mixed experiences depending on how helpful and understanding the dress shop is. Some are great and others will try and hold you to any contract you've signed.

Best thing is to speak to the shop.

Every shop is going to be different in regards to their policies etc.. Some shops would be happy to switch your deposit/current payments over to another dress, but it might depend on if it has already been ordered? Some shops might take your deposit, but also a request a further deposit on the other dress. Good luck speaking to them, hope it works out! x

For what I can gather you would more than likely lose your deposit and need to pay a new deposit for the new dress, BUT it will depend on the shop and the status of your order.

Best thing to do is speak to the shop

As mentioned, some shops will more thasnk likely have different methods for dealing with things like this and surely deal with quite a few of these issues. Speak your shop and see what their policy is. They may be happy to change it over, but be prepared that you may lose your deposit if not.

A shop will usually order your dress when you gave paid for half of it. not sure what your deposit was.
It might be worth trying them both on as you might find you fall in love with your dress all over again. It was on say yes to the dress once, bride came back as wanted a different dress and actually choose her original dress again without realising!
