Me and my husband got married quickly in April this year as we were moving abroad... we have 2 children and it helped with the legalities/security of our family while we were away. the problem is that we only had 7 weeks to plan, on a budget we didn't really have the choice of much as they were favours more than anything, his dad missed the ceremony due to a delayed flight, we couldn't invite most of our family and friends and his brother and nieces (who were meant to be my bridesmaids) couldn't get to the UK on such short notice. Everything was rushed! It was an incredible day but we both always had this idea of a wedding that didn't pan out and there are some regrets there! We were thinking about having a renewal of vows but big wedding style, with the dress I wanted (but couldn't get in time) my bridesmaids and our families and friends having plenty of notice!! Is this wrong? Do you think this would be ok and people would understand or are we bring greedy wanting our 'real dream wedding' to happen??

I think thats a fab idea. Either that or you could have a blessing. I think your family would love it. And then nobody has really missed out on your special day.

You should definitely do a blessing or renewal of vows. The great thing is that because the legal stuff is taken care of you can do it how you want, without needing to satisfy any legal requirements.
