Hi Ladies,

Righty ho, I know lots of us on here have a cadburys purple theme for our weddings. I just thought it would be nice to have an official thread to share ideas and purchases in.

My current 'dilema' ...that isnt much of a dilema really....is that I have ordered cadburys purple rose button holes. Just thought now, will it be too much purple with the purple cravat? Hmmmmmm

Naw, I've seen purple cravats with purple buttonholes and it looks fab :)
I just ordered all the stuff to make my centerpieces :) good old fishbowl with gelballs, rose and grass hehe. Gutted I can't make em straight away though, wedding is two years away and the gel balls only last 4 months after you've added water to them, so it will have to wait :/

I've also ordered all my foam flowers, but I got them all from different places so I'm kinda worried my purples wont match! :S xx

Ive ordered my foam flowers too! But umm'ing and arr'ing, because Ive ordered purple and hot pink bridesmaids bouquets, but for myself my boquet is going to be all ivory with lots of bling and glitter. Do you think it will look a bit odd me not having purple? Because h2b will be wearing purple (button hole and cravat) but I wont have any purple appart from maybe the ribbon on the stems of the bouquet :/

haha..i was looking for one of these threads the other day!!

i was thinking exactly the same bout buttonholes..i think weve come to the decision of H2B having purple or white then the other men (bestman..ushers..fathers etc) having the other colour to him! :)

We are purple ivory and silver. with regards to the cravat and buttonhole issue. We have done everyone with ivory buttonhole except groom who also has the purple cravat. Just thought the ivory would break up the mass of purple slightly. For myself i have a purple bouquet and my jewelery that i have had designed for me also has cadbury purple pearls on it

Yeah, think I might have h2b in smething different. Our other colour is cerise hot pink. I think to beak up the purple, I might add a bit of pink to the button holes....what do you think?xx

Kimmie, hmmm...yeah you know it might, could you get a purple ribbon in somewhere? Or a purple brooch? Maybe if you could tie purple ribbon around the stem of your flowers and have some of it hanging down a bit so it shows?

Hmm....could you get some purple beads in between your flowers? I've seen some bouquets have diamonds or pearls or whatever pinned in between the flowers, looks really nice.

Just spoke to my flower lady, she is going to add a couple of purple diamond pins in too, and I am having a charm in my bouquet with an angel and mum in letters, so she said she will add a little purple to that too :) shes fab! xx

I have blue swallows on my shoes, but there is a bit of purple detail on them so I think I'll get away with it.

i am also having purple, along with ivory and silver. My b/maids dresses are purple and will match the mens cravats. I am having ivory and purple flowers and am planning to wear sparkly purple shoes on the day. The silver will only be little touches such as table crystals etc.

We have mainly cadbury purple stuff, the only reason we're bringing in lilac is because we though white shirts might be a bit boring, but if we're going for purple ties it might be a bit much...anyway, lilac will probably be the little touches for us xx

Ooh MrsOwen2b I'm glad you're combining cadbury purple and teal too! We're thinking about doing this too. We're definitely having cadbury purple as the main colour and it will be the colour of the bridesmaid dresses, ties (H2B doesn't like cravats even though I do!) etc but I was thinking about bringing a teal colour, actually more like a man city blue as H2B is a mad fan and really wants that colour, into the flowers and a few other things, so maybe blue buttonholes for the groomsmen and blue/cream flowers for the bridesmaids and maybe I could have purple, blue and white. But I'm not sure if that would look strange! I'm going to meet the florist in the next fortnight so hopefully I can ask her what she thinks!

Ladies i need your help. Ok we are cadburys purple, silver and ivory. Ordinarily a man gives you away and has suit to match the rest of the guys. My mum is giving me a way and we are completely stuck on what colour to put her in. I had a nioghtmare matching bridesmaid and guys so dont really want the purple but also think my mum will look a bit silly in silver. I absolutley despise anything lilac (apologies to those having lilac) so dont wnat it anywhere near i have already threatened all the immediate family if they turn up in it they are getting sent to back of pictures. Anyway i defer from the subject i am thinking royal blue, i think teal is to pale for her what do you guys think obviously baring in mind everyone else is purple

Well they are like two tone we know they are purple so we can tell but to look at they just look black. He also wants to get a purpleish suit lol not willy wonka esq but same as shoes.
