I know some people have done really well with ordering dresses from Chine (I think thats where they are based) but others have had a complete nightmare.

When first looking at dresses I looked on there for ideas as they have such a wide variety amd one thing I noticed was the reviews repeat themselves so I was a bit dubious that they were genuine. When Michelle from England says exactly the same thing word for word as Paula in America you start to get a bit suspicious.

If you are looking for a dress on a budget, I suggest looking for sample sales (a lot of dress shops are advertising for them at the moment before the new season stock arrives), outlet stores or preloved dresses. X

All I can say is that I was tempted but didn't go for one in the end, due to reviews that I'd read.
There was also an episode of DTTB that featured a Chinese dress and although it wasn't horriffic you could tell the quality wasn't there and there was still things wrong with it.
Agree with Kirsty about getting ideas from there, you could then ask for quotes off here, or go to a wedding outlet such as W3d2b.

Lots of bridal outlet places out there - we got my sister's bridesmaid dress from a bridal outlet shop locally. I'd be a bit wary of anything coming from China and I remember that DTTB episode - it was a nice dress, but the quality was inferior and some of the stitching had come loose.
