Hi.. My caterer has given me a few options and I don't know what to choose so I thought I'd get opinions.
Firstly she asked me what kind of icing I want on my cupcakes. She said she can either do swirls or she can do the icing as mini versions of our wedding cake. What would you choose?
Secondly she asked me what kinds of nibbles we want on our buffet. My partner and I hate the idea of crisps and nuts but have no idea what other options there are. Any ideas?
Thanks :) xx

Hi Kirstie are you having a particular type of cake? Struggling to imagine what you mean, I think k swirls would be nice.
For nibbles could you have chicken Satay sticks, pitta and hoummus, scotch eggs mini quiches?

No we're having a chocolate sponge with a simple design. It's hard to explain but she means either a flat icing with the same design as the wedding cake but smaller or swirled. I think I like swirls best too!
We are having three big Quiches so wouldn't have small ones too. I like the idea of mini Scotch eggs and chicken satays :) thanks xx

Are you having a sit down meal? We are but in the evening for the buffet we are having bacon butties, sausage butties and chips. Was actually the same price as sandwiches, cocktail sausages etc

No, we're having an afternoon wedding and then just a buffet in the evening. We are having an Icecream cart and sweetie table too xx
If you aren't having a meal id def have a more filling buffet than nibbles. Cones of fish and chips work well too

Hi, with cupcakes I would also say swirls and then if you are not having a wedding breakfast, I Woukd make sure there are plenty of things to soak up the booze, mini fish n Chios, bacon butties, pizza- tbh at a wedding quiche is something I would avoid, but that's just me, maybe a selection of bread rolls and cold meats and cheeses?

Thanks, i think we'll go for swirls :)
We're doing cold meats, 3 different Quiches, 3 different pastas, pizza, salad, Indian and Chinese platters, French stick, pates, cheese and crackers, vegetable sticks, chicken goujons, pork pies, Scotch eggs, sausage plait, potato salad. That's all we have decided on so far I believe. I personally don't like bacon/sausage butties at weddings.. We was thinking about fish & chips but we have a small budget and decided we'd rather have loads of different foods as we have vegetarians and dairy intolerant people coming. I think we have a good mixture of foods to be honest and I would think most of what we have will soak up booze xx

That sounds lovely. I love the bacon butties. Baring in mind we will be having these at 10.30/11 when the booze is in lol

I've eaten them at weddings, can't say I've ever complained. I'm just not a massive bacon fan! We aren't having food brought out at 10.30/11 but if we was it would be chip butties :P lol xx

Hi,
I like the idea of the matching cupcakes, but I do like my matchy-matchy stuff.
Also, at our wedding reception we had open baguettes, sausage and onion lattice, mini beef burgers, pork pies and pickles, ham and cheese croissants, etc. It went down really well, everyone seemed to enjoy it :)
