Hey :) This is my first post so hopefully I am doing it right! I am a bride to be, yippee! We got engaged on 1st Feb and have been chatting weddings ever since. We are very excited to be getting married and so the fact we don't have a lot of money to spend doesn't bother us too much. I am very prepared to get very hands on and DIY to make our day romantic, pretty and fun for everyone (pinterest is amazing). Before I can start getting creative and making the little touches, we desperately need to sort a venue. This is obviously where our purse strings are going to be stretched the most!! Can anyone suggest anywhere around Thornbury, such as anywhere in South Gloucestershire or North Bristol? We were thinking a marquee in the garden of a local village hall but the marquees seem to be so expensive so any suggestions of affordable marquees would also be appreciated.

Didn't want to read and run but don't really know of any places, have you tried looking for local hotels or maybe a wine place as they tend to have beautiful land that you could sort a marquee on, and research them before going so you can try and get extra for your money and never be afraid to ask for more. I read somewhere that with hotels n places your more likely get extras rather than money off. We managed to get our hotel at the year before price ( saving £3/£4 per person which soon adds up plus saved on rest of the package) and got an extra bedroom for the night and an upgrade) so don't be shy when it comes to asking :) and if you find somewhere you love but is a little expensive maybe consider having a weekday wedding or a Sunday wedding as can get good price for them.
