What sort of prices have you guys paid/will be willing to pay for bridesmaid dresses? I can't believe the price of some of them!! The problem I've got is that I need the same dress in 4 different colours!!

Mine are £200 each from bridal store. I am hoping they will go on sale at some point. I had considered having she who must not be named make them for £90 each but not sure the colour would be right. If i get full price I'll just try and sell them after!

Hi, I am having 4 different colours (pastels)...it was quite difficult doing it that way and as we were very limited on time we ended up getting the expensive ones from the bridal shop - we got a 15% discount but they were still over £200 each...
what colours are you having? unless you have a lot of time to look around the only real option for getting them for under this is to go for one of the chinese dress options or maybe BH$ or Debenham$. I just can't see you being able to get four dresses all the same in normal high street shops in 4 different colours...unless four different dresses is an option? xx

£49 each. Saw them in a bridal mag and couldn't believe price. We had budgeted £100 p/dress so very chuffed!

Will get a nice sash for them too but still well under :)

Not sure where we're getting ours from yet, going to price up buying the material and getting a seamstress to make them and also looking on the bay, seen some nice one's from between £20 - £50 but obviously it's knowing whether they'll suit my girls and whether it will be the right colour.

I'm not wanting to spend too much as we want short dresses and I'll be getting their shoes as well.

I paid £70 each for my dresses. This included having them tailor made in the exact colour I wanted and they were also made to measure. I had been looking at around £230+ for what I was looking for before MIL2b informed me of the website/showroom that I got the dresses from. Not good when you have 6 bridesmaids lol! I am so pleased with the dresses.

Im making mine im really fugal on clothes, i refuse to pay over £30 per item of clothing. so theres no way im spending £100 or expecting my bms to pay that for a dress for 1 day, but the ones in making are the multiwrap ones.

which im hoping I will shorten them and that my bms will be able to rewear as they are so versatile.

I was expecting to pay about £100 per BM, but they found some that they all really liked in the bridal shop which were £220 each. I thougt I would just have to pay that considering they all liked it so much but then OH found some beautiful dress on the bay and they were £75 for the 3 of them including postage from China. I must say I was a little scared for them arriving as I thought they would be awful, but they were absolutely brilliant! Perfect colour, perfect fits and actually really well made! In the end the girls said they liked them more than the bridal shop ones!

I paid £80 off of e bay and the quality is brilliant.. Better than most of the ones that the girls tried on. They can make them to measure and they fit perfectly (saves on alterations and can even put in their heel height so that the dresses are perfect. (They do them in lots of different colours too so you can order as many different colours as you need. Photos are in my album.

yeah i definitely agree with the other ladies there are definitely cheaper options...but from experience having 4 different colours was an absolute nightmare because matching the 4 colours together is much harder than you think...it really depends on what 4 colours you are going for...xx

My FSIL managed to get 9 matching dresses in different colours for her BMs from the bay (a pic of her twin in one of the dresses is in my album) so it can be done. She got them from a supplier in China and I think they were about £30-£40 each.
I paid about £25 for each but my BMs are wearing sarees rather than dresses (pic in my album) and I managed to find the these going super cheap as the line had been discontinued and they wanted to get rid of UK stock before the new lines arrived from India. To put the price into context the saree my Mum will be wearing cost £600 (after haggling the price down) so if you do find something in the shops then it is worth asking about new stock arrivals to see if you can get a discount.

I dont want to spend any more than 20 per dress if i can help it, im already paying for them to eat and drink, so dont want to spend anymore than i have to, plus the bay do alot of nice dresses, ive been looking at maxi dresses and they are pretty cheap, athough i do like the wrap around dress idea! x

I have two bridesmaids and my dresses are £180 each from a bridal shop, which i was expecting to be the average price. If i didn't find any though I would have definitely looked on the Bay as they have some lovely ones for less than £50

I really really really wanted to get high street dresses but after 7 months of searching for the right colour and a style to suit 6 different shaped BM I ended up blowing the budget completely and getting de$$y dresses! £140 each and I havent paid the alterations yet! Its the only thing we went over budget on though everything else we have saved on, and it was causing a lot of stress to me so was worth it!! xx

I'm really struggling with BM dresses, Our colour scheme is orange, who'm I kidding it's tangerine, I'm having tropical flowers etc to set it all off but my BM are all different hights and sizes and I don't really want to pay mor than £60 per dress. Have no clue where to start, everything on the highstreet is sort or coral colour and its not quite what I want!

If anyone has any ideas I welcome comments to be posted on my wall :)

Bridesmaids dresses are crazy prices! Have searched and searched high street and department stores but can't find anything in burgundy for my budget (£50 per dress) so am having to order offline. Fingers crossed they come through ok!

I am hoping to spend around £50 each, I am only having 2 bm (h2b little sisters) but they will be 12 and 14 so kind of awkward ages. I dont think his mum will be happy with that though and will expect us to buy expensive dresses.

3 of mine are wearing floor-length chiffon dresses from a bridal shop; 1 of them cost £170 (she doesn't need alterations) another £250 (£170 dress plus £80 alterations), and the last one £310 (dress cost an extra £60 as she needed an extra length one; alterations were again £80).

Then my chief bridesmaid is wearing an ivory dress from R1ver 1sland. It cost £50 but we're making a lot of alterations inc to the bust line, nipping it in at the sides, taking it up and adding a small slit at the back for movement, and removing shoulder pads and adjusting the shoulders. I'd say we're probably looking at maybe £150 for alterations, so hers will come in at about £200 :-s

Mine were £297 each but if you brought more then one then you got them half price (was an offer) so paid £300 in the end for both which was way more then I wanted to pay but my bm's fell in love with them and my late granddad paid for them anyway :)
