I'm thinking of having 'U' shaped tables, so 2 long rows of tables either side of the top table.. this way we will need less centre pieces.. I'm thinking 2 per long table and then 2 x something different for the top table. Thinking I could have just 1 bird cage for the table where the guest book/post box would be though :) x

Yeah that would look lovely, the flowers would probably give more space on the tables too, you could always have the birdcage as a post box! x

Oooh yes I do like that idea.. but then I also like the actual 'post box' style post boxes as well!! But again they're expensive unless you make it yourself.. which I think would be a bit of a disaster lol. Might go for the bird cage post box! x

It could work Flossie and with you having pastel, it will be subtle. I know these are not pastel but I think it's gorgeous, the mix of colours. She did this with 48hrs notice as someone let a bride/groom down.

I've seen postboxes to hire for around £50. Thankfully my venue has a gorgeous white one they let you use for free.

I'd have to agree with your oh flossie I think different coloured sashes would be a bit much but that's me personally. If I was you I'd prob just stick with white or ivory sashes if I had different coloured bridesmaids.

My wedding count down sign arrived yesterday was going to wait til the year count down to write on it but couldn't resist lol it's up in the hallway

EmmaD444 Have you thought about looking into people who make shoes, or redesign them? If you found a pair of white heels, plain, that were comfy for you and similar you might be able to get someone to put that design on them for a fraction of the price? xx

Ooh no I wouldn't want just white or ivory sashes, they would just blend in with the chair covers and I think that would look really boring :/ my flower girl is in yellow so I could drop the yellow and have 4 different coloured sashes to match the adult bridesmaids. I definitely want some colour, and as that is my colour scheme, to me it seems weird having anything but that?!

Well my veil from China has arrived.... It's beautiful but really heavy!! Maybe it's because I'm not used to it.

I have had a little play with it but will try it with everything else another day. For £12 it's excellent

It has made me re think how I want hair though. With me having a strapless dress, I thought I'd want my hair down. With my veil, it look gorgeous up..... Oooooh, decisions decisions x

Emmilou82, do you have a photo of your veil? Brilliant find for £12!

Flossie, might sound a bit strange, but could you find some patterned material that incorporated all your pastel colours to use as sashes. I'm thinking along the lines of C@th Kidston style material or maybe stripes?

Thanks KatieD, however, I am going off it slightly lol.....

It feels a bit cheap compared to the material on my dress but like I said, it's no great loss if I don't wear it!!

I've spent a lot of time alone this weekend and all this thinking and planning is doing my head in..... Think I might take a step back from it for a while.

Does anyone else ever get like this? Is it normal??

I emailed probably 20 or so cake makers and just made notes of their quotes, what they offered, delivery costs, how professional/impressive they were etc. and then just narrowed it down from there.

We actually had a much cheaper quote of £120 for the naked cake and £150 for the buttercream cake, BUT she wouldn't deliver outside of Swindon. She had pictures of amazing cakes but she hadn't any pictures of wedding cakes, they were more like birthday cakes and mainly cup cakes... so was unsure anyway! I'd rather pay that little bit more and know that we're going to get a fab cake with fab service :)

When we first started looking around for quotes we were getting £300-£500 which is ridiculous.
