sooo i need to get my honeymoon booked before the 19th of this month to get the package that we want/can afford. the only problem is that i don't have my passport yet. it is 11 weeks before we would go away so i would imagine my passport would be back by then especially if we put a rush on it. Would you say it's worth going ahead and booking? x TIA x

When will you be sending off for it? I would say you should be fine to book 11 weeks is plenty of time to get it back. My passport came back within 2 weeks earlier in the year. You can always pay extra for fast tracked for that extra piece of mind too x

I posted my passport off a few weeks ago to change my name - it came back within 2 weeks and that was just the normal standard service, I was really surprised at how quickly it came back. I'd say you'd be fine to go ahead and book xx

If you can get to do it, I'm positive you can get a same day passport. You have to travel to the passport office and have an interview etc if I remember correctly. Also putting a cover letter in explain its for you honeymoon will help you get it faster. 11 Weeks should be plenty of time but its now hight of season for passports/holidays so they will be busy this time of year.
**Edited to add** Just checked they still do the same day passports. You have to make an appointment at the passport office, you can do this on the gov website. You can get your passport the same day if you provide a completed application form, 2 photos and all your supporting documents. You can usually collect it 4 hours after your appointment.
thanks everyone :) i'm sending off for it tomorrow (the person to sign as my witness is away until today) i think i'll ask them how much more it for the rush but yeh i'm hoping standard should be ok. thanks for the tip on the same day passport will definitely look into that! x

I didn't think mine would come back so quickly with it being holiday season - I need mine for the last week of September so was kind of expecting it to take a month or so, was pleasantly surprised when I got a text not even 2 weeks later saying that it had been dispatched and I'd receive it in a few days! I would just say triple check that you've filled in your form correctly and provided all the relevant documentation etc so that they have no reason to delay it xx
