I gave birth to my daughter in october and ive only got 5 or 6lbs to loose of my baby weight before i start on the weight i had to loose before i fell pregnant but i still have a "pouch" that i cant seem to get rid of and i was wondering if anyone know of any excerices i could do that will help get rid of my baby pouch

I'd like to know this too - I was absolutely huge with my daughter, and I also ended up with an emergency section, so I don't think I'll ever get rid of it completely :( I'm back down to pre-pregnancy weight now (after losing over 3.5st) but my tummy still makes me look chunky!

iv got a baby pouch after 2 kids but my doc told me that i will always have it its 1 of the drawbacks of having kids he said xx

Thats so not true, your doctor just can't b bothered me thinks, after my 3rd child I took over a year to get back to pre-shape but I did, the only prob after having kids is that if you put on weight it'll hit your stomach and thighs 1st, well it did on me!

I'm hoping that dropping my daughter's last breastfeed next week will get rid of all the fat I'm storing around my hips/thighs/tum! Fingers crossed!
i found after having my first 2 daughters it took me a while but using one of the abs roller at the gym did wonders for my tummy but did do other things at gym too but was thinking about getting a ab roller to use at home as since having my third daughter havent toned it up and still got a bit of the mummy tummy xx

my doc can have a "your bothering me" attitude at times lol
im gonna try get zumba for my wii & see how that goes as theres hardly any classes near me, plus with the hours i work would be hard to commit to a class.

I gave my daughter her last breastfeed on sunday so as of tomorrow it'll be a week with no mummys milk but i wouldnt say that feeding her or not has helped me loose the weight sadly

A personal trainer at my gym told me that 'the plank' which is a pilate move is more effective than doing 50 sit ups as it uses all you stomach muscles whereas sit ups mainly work your stomach muscles. So maybe try a pilate or yoga class, nice and relaxing too!

i'm still breastfeeding my 16 month old and its never helped me lose weight! I just ate so much crap all the time as i was always hungry and thirsty! I do body pump and we do the plank at the end and it's bloody hard work! but i can definitly see how if you did it regulary it would help tone that whole area up. I would say it just takes a hell of a lot of hard work to shift that pouch, i have been hitting the gym for a good 4 months now and i still have it even though am losing and toning up in other areas. just gotta keep working at it i suppose!!
Oh also i got a slendertone belt which aint working miricles but i think it must be having some effect as my muscles ache after using it for a few days in a row!! (the same ache you get with loads of sit ups!)

Most doctors get like that at some point nicole! Well we're altogether in this so we can support each other, gonna try the tae bo dvd tomorrow morning (now I'm feeling better!) not holding my breath though as it looks a bit to hard!!! lol xx

Mrs C2b - my daughter's almost 18 months and she's down to just one breasfeed in the evening, but planning to stop that next week (when she turns 18 months). I put a lot of weight on after having her, but I'm hoping to lose a bit when I stop feeding her as when you breastfeed your body stores fat reserves - a lot of girls I know have lost the fat off their hips and stuff when they've finished feeding. Although it's obviously not always the case as Clarabella said! We can hope! :)

the plank is when you lie face down, then lift yourself up on your elbows and toes. Kinda press up position but you have your forearms flat on the floor. Make sure you keep your bum down and body straight. Try to hold it for a min, then realease. Then hold back up for another minute. Do as many as you can. Its great for giving a more hourglass figure.

type "how to do the plank" into YouTube and there are loads of vids to show you how to do it properly. YouTube has a how-to for nearly everything!
