Definitely a good day to get married :)

    My planning-
Ordered my dress last October, its being handmade
    Booked Church/ Choir/ Reception Venue/ DJ/ Photographer
Spoken with and booked the cake lady, venue decorators and the magician
Bought groom gift and wedding shoes
    Booked honeymoon

Made decisions on but too early to act on -
    Invites
    Bridesmaid dresses
    Favours
    Music
    Menu
    Mens suits
    presents for the people concerned

Need to buy the garden games

Main things I still need to sort are church flowers and car.

I am basically using any weekends we are up north and having to have all the important meetings like menu tasting, cake lady etc next Feb half term.

Hi all, I see everyone is doing well with their planning, I tried to booked the church the other day and they all ready have a wedding on our day, So we have booked a different church which i like better anyway so that was lucky, Just shows you can never book to early though. Did a bit of late night bargain hunting tonight. I got my place name cards they should have been £1.50 for 8 and i got them for 37p a pack i need appox 74 so i got 80, but the lady only charged me for 9 packs not 10 lol So £3.33 not £3.70 to think i could of paid £15 lol. I also got a frog ornament for £1.25 instead of £5 and a mushroom for £1.50 instead of £6. Also brought a hopscotch garden game £4 instead of £8 to add to my collection. So i could of spent £34 but it only cost £10.08 so cant be bad. My 2 tiaras came the other day as well £2 each and they are lovely.

I've seen the wedding ring that used to belong to my great-grandmother. It needs reshaping and resizing but there's someone in Cardiff that can do that. Mum still has it at the moment. It's over 100 years old.

    I want a wedding twin :[

Our date is the 14.08.14 :] not a special date to us, just has a ring to it. Final year of my teaching degree so needed to be in the summer holidays as fingers crossed someone will want to snap me up for a job ha!!

We have booked our venue~deposit paid, a photobooth~deposit paid, and a chocolate fountain~deposit paid.

My mil2b has provisionally booked the registrar and are paying for this as their contribution, which is sweet.

Save the dates went out a few weeks ago, I was way to excited to wait any longer. Plus it is a Thursday wedding in the summer holidays so we thought it best to give people extra time to book holidays etc.

Really excited to do some more planning. Maybe need to start thinking about dresses. I have lost a stone [I've put on 5 stone in relationship weight!!] Need more self control!! Don't want to be back to size 6~8 as I was still just as unhappy as I am now with my looks. I would just really like to feel comfortable in my own skin so however much it takes to feel good.

    xx

Suzie, the date sounds lovely! Have you checked the Wedding Calendar pinned to the top of the front page? If you have a wedding twin, it might very well say there! Sounds like you're underway with the planning nicely.

Dress shopping is the best part!

Trying really hard to sort out our caterer. We really want a hog roast, BBQ and Buffett, just nice a casual, like us :)

Think we've chosen the BM dress, but waiting till Xmas to order as being custom made and h2b sis has a thyroid problem so growth spurts will happen wi the hormones she is on.

I really cannot decide on the style of invitations I want.

The Thursday was £1650 cheaper than the Friday, we really couldn't warrant spending that extra money to have the Friday on just a venue cost!! The venue is not even the cheapest for a Thursday price!! Ha xx

Since my last post... Wedding ring has arrived and been collected, cake has been ordered and design has been picked for the invites, will be placing the order for these very soon! My shoes arrived too but unfortunately the size 3 was too big and I can't/don't want to order a size 2.5 (I don't think they even stocked this size!) so back to the drawing board on that one. Off to meet the florist at the weekend too!
    All very exciting xx

Since my last update OH 'proposed' with my new ring while we were on a short break in London, we've cancelled the original string quartet we booked due to lack of communication, and have booked a different string trio instead, and we've posted the day-time save the dates. We're getting there now, but still seem to have a LOT left to do, including:

Collect the bridesmaids dresses and arrange alterations
Buy bridesmaids dresses for the remaining 2 bridesmaids
Get OHs suit, tux, and shoes
    Purchase the wedding rings
    Book the honeymoon
Do a menu tasting and finalise menu options
Order the printed invitations and RSVP cards, and place cards
Add ribbons and embellishment to the above
Make the table plan and table names
Decide where we're having our pre-wedding shoot
Register at a department store and make our gift list

    So, quite a lot!

My main aim is for people to have fun, thats why we are keeping it short ceremony at 3 speaches by 7, games and food until then, theres no time for boredom! HAHA and everyones dressing up in Victorian Corsets and things, the H2B is wearing a red velvet tails coat and a big frilly shirt with lace sleeves, looks like a sort of adam and the ants/vampire sexy thing lol. I'm so excited! I hope it all comes off, it will either be a visual feast or a complete flop, only time will tell! What are you doing having a gorgeous traditional wedding?

Cant see why not seeing as we are having an adult friendly bouncy castle lol We are having a traditional-ish but will be a small wedding but not planning on an evening do because we want it to be a day long event instead. We have kids too so want it to be fun :) Plus we aren't the overly traditional types either so we would get bored if it was too formal lol x

Just got my chair covers and sashes sorted! 150 of each including delivery, set up and collection for £375 and they are throwing in two bay trees decorated in our colours for free! I don't think that is too bad of a deal considering one company wanted £550 just for the covers and sashes! Just the rings to sort now and that is everything sorted other than the bits that can't be done until a couple of months before! xxx

You aren't behind hun, and congratulations on booking it! The main things I would say you need to get sorted first is the registrar (to make sure you get the date and time you want), then the photographer (they get booked up quickly) and then your dress as some can take up to 6-9 months to come into the store after ordering them. Good luck with the rest of your planning :) xxx

Hi, no it isn't like we have over budgeted, it is just saving this side of Christmas as we have two young children, so I am stressing that we aren't going to have what we need in the time for when things need paying/deposits. I might just be stressing over nothing but sometimes it is best to get it out lol
