I think we're having fish-bowl vases with either roses or gerberas; our other possible option is an orchid in a pot. Our venue speaks for itself so we want to keep all decorations etc really simple.

We're getting creative with our centre pieces. Our theme is music, so each table will have the name of a famous musician, and the centre piece will reflect that musician.

Aaarrrrgggghhhh.... I've had my 1st and only school boy ebay error!!!! I want bird cages for my centre pieces, dont quite know how i want to decorate them or anything. Just love the way they look. I've been looking for reasonably priced ones for ages on all sorts of sites and keeping an eye out for people selling them from Thier weddings. Then last week I came across a seller on ebay that was selling some at very good prices, thought it ova a couple of days and I finally ordered them cause she stated the as new and unused. They came and the picture on her page certainly did the cages a lot of favours! They came and sum was dinted, the smaller ones are meant to be an exact copy of the bigger cages and Thier not. So I sent her a polite email, giving her the benefit of the doubt and I'm lucky that she wants the whole lot back and said she will refund all my money.. be very careful people! Shes one of these sellers that's sells a lot of different things the other reviews has been positive. Will not making this mistake again!! Think I'm gonna go down the hiring route .. xx

re save the dates- looking at when other people are sending theirs makes me feel better as i was planning on sending them out around the end of march this year as our wedding is 30th Aug 2014 ....
Had been thinkng i hadnt done alot but when writing it down actually sounds better than it is, although in comparrison to some hardly anything has been done !! Done: Registrar Venue - does the whole package re dj,centrepeices etc photoographer insurance taken out dress & shoes
I know there are still lots of things to do but we have decided on the cake, I am making the invitations etc and have an idea of what flowers i would like. the fun thing (or not) will be sorting out the BM's outfits !! Going with my 2 daughters for a look made me realise going with all 7 will be so stressfull... Ah well, it will be worth it.

Linzi: ooh, that's fab news! And the dress is GORGEOUS!
We went to see the cake lady on Friday, and have been quoted £420 for a 4 tier cake serving 100, plus a cutting cake to serve 40; now we just need to decide on flavours, as they're all GORGEOUS! We're def having fruit for the top, but then need to decide between chocolate fudge, plain sponge with buttercream and raspberry jam, toffee/caramel, lemon, and carrot cake, argh!
Also found the chair sashes we want, so that's good! (lace with pearl and diamante buckles). Also decided on save the dates and invites so ordering the bits to make them this week so I can get started!
STILL haven't sorted the photographer though; down to 3, so arranging to see them all over the next few weeks and will hopefully decide within the month.

I found the perfect bridesmaids' necklaces the other day. They have silver teddy bears on, which fits beautifully with having the family teddy bear as a page boy.

My mum is a dance teacher so I'm hoping we can do something a bit more ambitious than simply hugging in the middle of the floor and moving our feet in time to the music. We're contemplating doing something a bit more humerous as well, but we may just go for something romantic.

Linzi: oh wow, are you sending them out already? I really don't know when to send ours; most people know the date, but you know what it's like when it isn't 'official'; but I'm worried that if we send them TOO soon they'll forget. Was thinking June time maybe? Or should I send them earlier? (well, they have to be ordered and made first lol, so probably won't be THAT early!)
Also... I bought my bridal lingerie today! SO excited! I have my dress already, and have slimmed down to my target weight, and maintained it for 2 months, so, I'm having my dress altered at the end of next month (paranoid about the company going bust as the alterations weren't cheap (we had to pay in advance) plus they're throwing in free dry-cleaning and repairing a few bits (a couple of beads need stitching down and I don't want to touch it despite being a pretty decent sewer), so I wanted to get my underwear for the fitting and alterations, to make sure it's done properly.
It's from one of the designers a D'hams, and it's beautiful! I bought a lovely lace bra with detachable straps, cute satin and lace knickers, and a garter, and they all have little blue bows on them so they can be my 'something blue' :-) I also bought a gorgeous chiffon baby-doll and matching tie-side briefs for the day after/honeymoon, so really chuffed :-D

Oh they sound lovely Barbie! And yeah we are sending them out early because a lot of our guests aren't from where we are getting married and it is also a sea side town so places get more expensive and quickly booked up in the summer! So this way our guests will have enough notice to book accommodation etc xxx

We have a photographer! £800 and we get two parent albums as well as the main one, and cards with our picture to give the guests with details of the website and password to view the photos. We also get thank you cards with our picture on, and a pre-wedding shoot.The albums are really good quality as well. I found him through UKBride.

Elinor you have got a great deal for your photographer and lots of extras too.
It is all seeming a bit real now :) We booked the car tonight and saw a great magician at the wedding show, I'm very temped to book him but he's been on tv and done royal shows so I think the price might be too high ( no prices on web page - mean expensive I think)
But everything is on hold now for 3 weeks as H2B goes in for his skin graft on Tuesday. and he needs looking after till he is better

Well done Vodkachick! I also found out that I got a job yesterday! I start on the 22nd! So exciting! I have been trying to get one for over a year now!!! lol I also booked my flowers the other day so payed the deposit on them, and I bought my tiara and hair comb for a total of £29 in the Debenhams sale! Next up to sort is rings, cake, and bridesmiad dresses :) How is everyone else getting on with their planning? xxx
