I ordered mine yesterday and will be sending them end of this month/ beginning of next months as we have a lot of people who need to travel and as we live and will be getting married in a seaside resort people will need to book their accommodation earlier rather than later xxx

We share a date, I'm marrying on 30th August 2014 which is also my birthday. So far we've just booked the two venues and asked all the adult bridesmaids, ushers and best men. I've been looking at dress ideas and my matron of honour has offered to make both mine and the bridesmaids dresses. I'm also getting quotes for transport and photographer. We're hoping to use a friend of my H2B for the video. The reception package is really comprehensive so we only need to book a DJ for that.

I've put my Save the Date on Facebook made 1 card and scanned it in the computer lol, I'm going to send the actual invites out January 2014 so that should give people plenty of time. My news is H2B has chosen his best man and gone suit shopping :) he has booked proper tails and top hats like he wanted but also in navy because that's what I wanted. How sweet - I knew I loved him for a reason. He has decided he needs to sort my car now as I have no interest in that side of things, and he also is going to find us a place to stay on the wedding night :)

vodkachick: I think we're sending our save the dates in July, as some people we know book their holidays over a year in advance, so we want to make sure they're aware. Then I think we'll probably send the invites either before Christmas (like, early November so it doesn't get mixed up in the Christmas post) or after Christmas (late Jan, 6 months before). Undecided on that one at the moment.
On a different note, we're still waiting to hear back from the registrar, and still waiting for my ring quote: boooo!
But, on a more productive/positive note, we've made an appointment to see the cake lady for 2 weeks time, and will the head to the big wedding show in London after to try and book our photographer. I've also contacted a couple of florists local to the venue, and the two quotes I've had back so far are pretty similar; basically, for 1 bridal bouquet, 5 bridesmaids ones, 5 button-holes, and 7 table centres (fish-bowl vases with posies inside) of roses we're looking at £400; for gerbera, which is another option, a little less (about £340 ish). How does that sound?

Sorry ladies been away for a while visiting family and in-laws to be before the big day. Yes she can do the style we wanted she sat there doing rough sketches while we were talking and what she had drawn was so amazballz, then she went and rented Evil Dead 2 as thats what the cake is themed after and did more sketches which she will bring to our next meet @ the venue. I'm so excited to see what she'd done xx

I dont think that is too organised ChanelP! The only reason I am leaving my bridesmaid bits atm is because the two adult ones are thinking of starting families, so dont want to go and buy dresses and then find out that one will be 6+ months pregnant on the day! lol xxx

Well, after much arguing with the registry office, they have agreed to make an exception, and have sent us written confirmation of our date and time, woohoo! So relieved; I had looked into getting married in the next borough along as they take provisional bookings at any time, but it was going to cost us more (as the ceremony venue we liked was more expensive, plus we'd have had to organise transport (our current ceremony venue is just a 2 minute walk from our reception venue). So yeah, good news!

I thought I was a bit too far ahead of the game next on the list is: DJ and Cars will leave suits til closer to the time hopefully there is not much I have missed: Thank you presents, bms accessories, honeymoon (if we decide to go on one), alterations. xx have I left anything will be making my own table numbers, place cards, table plan and order of service.

So far I have got:
-the church -the reception venue -the photographer -the bridesmaids jewellery -my shoes -started making invites -started making bridesmaids headpieces -made wine charms -bought place names (wooden roses with wooden hearts with names painted on) -frame for table plan -the band booked(also do a DJ service at the end) -some flowers but still need to get the majority -my jewellery -the transport booked -started to make the ring pillow -make-up sorted -cake topper bought
left to sort:
-my dress -the cake -my tiara -the rings -bridesmiad dresses (they are getting their own shoes) -thank you presents -suits -majority of flowers -chair covers/sashes (cant find any cheap enough at the moment) -lighting -centerpieces (venue provide the flowers but want to have some tea lights and some nicer vases) -book the honeymoon -book hair -buy underwear
Only thing I can think of that you have missed ChanelP is hair, make-up, the cake and underwear xxx

O Thank you Linzi-jo. Hair -MOH is doing as she is a hairdresser! Make-up doing my own as i'm a fuss bum with tht. I am making the cake. Rings I have mine just the OHs to sort. Underwear I'm stuck on I don't know where I can buy from :S any suggestions? - you are doing really well linzi-jo!! x

We've got venues and date sorted, and the key roles (attendants, ushers, best men). We're both in choirs so music is covered. We're on the verge of booking the photographer. We're probably having someone my fiancé knows as videographer, but we're waiting to see his work. I know my matron of honour is going to make dresses for myself and bridesmaids. So we're getting there.

Eeeeeek I know! I'm so excited! Going to Elegance Bridal in Beccles on Thursday as seen some dresses in there that I like the look of, and will take a camera but not sure if they will let me take pictures or not. Was also thinking of booking an appointment for one in Gorleston on the Friday as have to take my car for a service so thought I could go with my mum while waiting for that to be done, but don't know what they are like. Would you recommend any to go to? xxx

Also, when's everyone getting BM dresses? I have a bit of a problem in that one of mine is probably going to South America from September to July. They want matching ones, and won't change size (they've all been the same weight forever), and they're fairly set on a style (and have been for the whole 2 years we've been engaged), so was thinking to get them in the summer so it's done and isn't a last minute rush/my BM who'll be in South America won't get a say, but wondering if this is too soon?

I agree with Siany, leave it for a while. You cant be certain that they wont change shape, one may become ill and put on or loose a lot of weight, they might have a child or get pregnant, and if one is going to South America then she may change shape (my friend had been the same size for years, went to Australia for a year and put on 3 stone!) so I dont think it is really worth the risk to do them early on xxx

They definitely won't get pregnant (one is childfree, one is single and going to South America, the other is in a relationship with an Australian and has no plans to have children until they know where they're settling (which will be after the wedding)). They're not the types to get pregnant accidentally, either. As for size: no chance of them losing weight (if they did they'd end up in hospital as they're all size 6-8 already!), and likewise gaining weight; they're all very very weight conscious and have been the same size for the past 10 years plus now. So that doesn't concern me, I think I'd be more worried about storing them properly, but I guess I could always store them for them?

If you buy them from a bridal shop, they will often store them for you. If you get them from somewhere else and put them in cotton dress bags and let them air out of the for a couple of hours every couple of months then they should be fine xx

(secretly pretty gutted I'm not going!) I'm having fish bowls with sand pebbles fairy lights and lily flower head, we are not allowed scatter crystals so keeping the tables simple. we are having a wish tree but no post box. still seems so far away :(
