My fiancé and have just booked the church for our wedding in August 2016 last weekend. I have decided on who I want my bridesmaids to be - my best friend as my maid of honour, and then my sister and 2 very close friends as bridesmaids. However H2B thinks it's too early to be asking bridesmaids just yet - my MOH and sister know they are bridesmaids already as this has been a bit of a lifelong decision... is it too early to be asking them all officially? If so when is the right time?
Thanks and happy planning! xxxx

I asked mine as soon as we booked the venue, which was about 2 years before! If you're positive that that's who you want as your MOH and bridesmaids then I don't see the point in waiting. You have more time to bounce ideas off them then and get excited about everything! xx

I asked mine the second I got home from the holiday where we got engaged. So almost 2 years before the wedding x

I was going to wait to ask mine, but when I told them we were engaged I couldn't help myself and I asked them. :)
So we hadn't even booked yet, we booked very quickly after getting engaged though-but we got engaged 20 months before the wedding, so that was how soon I asked them.
I've decided for mine as soon as got engaged. But didn't tell all of them at that time. I send a little card to them, asking if they would like to be my bridesmaids. It was by last October lol about 27 months before the wedding lol

I asked mine within the first few days of being engaged. It's a great time to share your fantastic news with the people closest to you and to all go to some fairs together xx

Sorry to hear that, I had a friend that now is no longer even on the evening list too. She would've been considered had things not changed. Funny how you can be so close to someone and things can completely change in such a short amount of time x

If you're confident there won't be any problems with any of the girls, go for it. I got engaged in the November, booked in feb and asked them In April.

I'm the same with someone who I always thought would be my MOH and now she barely talks to me, fortunately we got engaged after that sort of happened.
I'm still on speaking terms with her and have nothing against her, but we're just not as close as we used to be.
