Hi ladies, as the title says I am wondering if anyone is hiring someone to dress the venue on the day? and if so roughly how much this would cost? My venue has said that as long as nobody has booked for that day then we can go in anytime we want on the day before to set up. But I am worried that i will get unlucky and won't have access til the morning of the wedding.

It will just be setting up the sweetie buffet, the chair backs, hanging up some decorations and setting out the place names and table plan that sort of stuff...(as we are making it all ourselves)...Obviously If I have access the day before I can easily do it myself but don't want to have to do it myself and I don't wanna have to put the job on my mum or bridesmaids and to be honest there isn't really anyone else I would trust to get it how I want it? :)

Could you not ask someone at the venue to do it for you (possibly for an additional fee)? Our venue did all the setting up for us; we gave them everything (we also did a fair bit of DIY eg table names, menu cards, table plan, signing frame etc) and put post-its saying what was going where, and they then did it for us.

Otherwise, I'm not sure who you'd approach; maybe a wedding planner/day of co-ordinator? I don't know what they'd charge though!

It will be a combination of the wedding coordinator and the girl supplying the chair covers, swagging and sweetie table that will set things up. Oh and the lady supplying the twinkle backdrop, that will be set up hopefully the night before. So we pretty much don't have to do anything :)

it depends what you need, we are hiring someone to do our ceremony room with fairy lights and uplights, couple hundred quid or thereabouts

As for my centre pieces and that, my events planner at the venue has said that they will do it, if you have things well organised in boxes and labelled well etc, really, setting up a sweet table wont take them 5 minutes, nor will your table decs etc

They might charge you for the chair sashes though, but it wont hurt to ask them before turning to family members or yourself to get it done

i have someone dressing the room.. for chair covers and bows, table runner, centre peices each (table dif colour) top table cake table entrance table

i think its something like £1 per chair lol ... we looked at doing it ourself (tbh its a business id enjoy doing) but cost and time wise not effective. we may have access to the room the day before if not 9 or 11am we can. our wedding isnt till 3.30 so she has ample amount of time... if you have someone doing the room for you lesve a pile of stuff and a note they would be happy to sort them out(if u say in advance oh ithis will b at the venue etc).. i have got lights and stuff that ill take the day before for her so shes not taking extra stuff with her that i can easily take through x

We are hiring a local company to dress our reception/party venue. We're having upto 250 guests so that's alot of chair covers to dress lol!
For everything from chair covers, table decorations, top table, lighting, cake table, sweet table, post box/presents table, starlight back drop etc its costing us a max of £1000 depending on final numbers.
The venue itself doesn't have their own dress service.

we are having a company do it,they are supplying our decorations and the set up fee is £35, we are having a separate company that are providing our chair covers and they are doing it as part of the package, i only found out the other day that the venue are gonna set everything else up for us on the tables, so this saves alot of stress, we too are making our own stuff like table place names, favour boxes etc, and they are gonna set it up, see if your venue will do this anyway as i only found out by chance, they may already do it for you xx

We have our venue the day before and are having someone come in and fit the chair covers and sashes. We will then do the rest of the venue dressing (balloons, bunting, fairy lights, linen, glasses and setting general table decorations) up with family. Florist and caterers will finish the tables off on the morning of the wedding.
