I want a first dance but....don't think me and my partner ever have danced before. I always just chicken out when we have a chance. What am i going to do in front of everybody!!

Would it be strange if I only danced Once (first dance) for the whole evening?

Not sure if I'm more affraid of the first one or the dancing afterwards. Slow shuffling would prob be ok but any faster and im out. I want to dance but just need more confidence as im convinced every time i do i look like a total idiot.

I just dont want to be stood or sat around for my whole wedding evening party. Anyone else feel like this?

You're not on your own..i'm not really a big dancer too and do feel very self concious that i look like an idiot. Maybe some dance classes will help you build some confidence? Your OH could go with you, could have a bit of fun with it :-) x

It always comes down to money doesn't it :-/ maybe you could just have a few drinks and go to a club with him and just go for it?! That's a cheaper option! Lol! Aww bless him, at least you've got his support x

I think slow shuffling is really sweet. I've been to some weddings with choreographed dances and tbh I didn't care for them much.

Yeah hes a diamond! Bless. Yes thats another great idea. Thanks and I agree shuffling is sweet. Would be good to know we could do it before the day, instead of just throwing ourselves in at the deep end. Some lessons are in order i think. Even if we just have some fun and practice our shuffling hahaha x

Lol me and h2b are rubbish at dancing, I'm hoping a few drinks beforehand will calm my nerves (I'm one of those unfortunate people who believe they are the worlds best dancer after a few)

I don't know how I will feel about everyone watching me though x

I actually go to dance lessons but h2b won't come.

I am looking forward to just shuffling around the floor having a cuddle and a chat.

I certainly am dreading the first dance but after that the dance floor will be full so you don't need to worry about everyone looking at your dancing! Plus, when have you ever been to a wedding and thought "oh it was so nice but the brides awful dancing just spolied it for everyone" ?? That just is NEVER going to happen!! I think as brides we get caught up in worrying about so many things that other people would a) never notice or b) never comment on if they did because they are your friends and family and they love you!!

Stop worrying! It'll be fine! (Well, that's what i'm trying to convince myself of anyway! lol!) xxx

You'll be fine... and shuffling is fine...

this is from one that doesn't dance when sober but when helped along by a few drinks thinks she should be on strictly come dancing :)

we're both reeeeally scared about this.. we dance when we go out, but just the two of us dancing with all eyes on us makes me want to be sick! hopefully we'll get other couples to join in with us after the first half of the song so it won't be as bad! definitely just *awkwardly* shuffling though x

I'm absolutely petrified about doing anything that will make me the centre of attention, but all I keep telling myself that it will only be the closest people in my family and friends and that all should care about is getting married to man I love.

I love dancing, but my H2B doesn't and has absolutely no rhythm and 2 left feet, we have never danced together in the whole 5 years we've been together. So I have told him we'll have to practice :)

Me and h2b can't dance for a toffee. And he was quite adamant he didn't want a first dance. But we had a few dances after a few glasses of wine in our living room an he said he didn't think it was so bad after all and would give it a go :)

    shuffling around is sweet x

My partner and I are going to have a few dance lessons.

We're both quite shy, so if we have something to actually focus on, I at least, will be less nervous.

Me and H2B are both very uncoordinated, there have been times where I have fallen over whilst standing still lol. We will be doing the classic slow shuffle and then staying clear of the dance floor the rest of the night. x

We are the worst dancers but after a few glasses of wine you can't get me off the dancefloor!
We are thinking of only having 1 or 2 minutes on our own for first dance song then inviting everyone to join us xx
