    Good morning,

i am hoping someone out there can give me some advice, guidance and tips.

i am newly engaged, and I we are starting to plan our wedding. We want a small wedding with only close friends and family (40 day guests, 100 evening guests). we would love a marquee in a farmers field close to Coventry, however this is proving Impossibe, does anyone know any venues around this area?

We would like to have a bbq/hog roast, bouncy castle for children. Hay, barrels of beer etc.

i have searched the internet and I cannot find a field for hire in or around this area,

we are keen to keep costs down are willing to make cuts were possible, I would appreciate any tips.

we have not yet set a date but are hoping October 2018.

i would be most grateful for any suggestions.

thank you for taking your time to read my post.

I can not help with the issue of location, as I'm based down south, but We have gone for 2018 too, and a lot of places have been willing to honor this years price because of booking nice and early.

It doesn't help much I know, but at least it'll help keep the price down on some things at least.

    Good luck with your planning!

    Hey!

Also something to think about are you having the wedding and ceremony in the same place? As I don't think you can get married unless the place is officially registered as a place of marriage and it also has to be in a permanent structure like a building or an outside feature such as a pergola?
Unfortunately I am not local to make any suggestions as I have no idea of the area, maybe approach some farmers to see if they would rent a field?

    good luck x

Hi. I'm from Coventry too. This was an option I was hoping for, but like you said, there doesn't seem to be anywhere! I have decided on a church and social club now (10 days to go - eek!)
Anyway, good luck finding what you want xx

No field would be registered as a wedding venue for the ceremony, however if you want the field just for the reception your best bet would be to look for farmers close to your ceremony venue. Phone them and offer them a sum of money for the hire of one of thier fields, the Yes or no will largely depend on how much you offer and at what time of year.

Also approach local riding stables as they may know friendly farmers for Hay/Straw bale hire and normaly the Hay man has a couple of fields that are resting that you may be able to hire for an event.

Anouther option is to look at local Riding clubs, they often have fields that they will hire out if there isnt an event on that weekend, or if they hire thier fields from a farmer then you will have found a farmer who will hire them out.

Maybe look for a venue with marquee in it. Saves the table hire etc xxx
