My date is May 21st 2016 - So far I have got the venue booked, Photogrpaher, Band, Photobooth, Flowers arranged, suits picked, sweet table booked and my dress :)) Everything else is more or less sorted its just the paying for it and ordering bits and bobs :D

Its seems really surreal knowing we booked the venues back in April and the last 8 months have FLEW by!! Everythings now on hold till Feb/March next year as moving into our new flat :D xx

Wow Kayleigh! I get married a week before you and I have done nothing compared to the amount you have! All I have done is booked venue, photographer, DJ and flowers and bought my shoes! :( I know everything else that I want I just need to get around to booking/buying them! I think once Christmas is out of the way I will get as much as I can booked so I have more time to pay things off! x

    You ladies have done lots.......

I've booked my venue, the photographer, sorted my table decorations, favour boxes, booked the DJ and paid a deposit for the registrar.

We have run out of funds at the minute so hopefully after the new year we can get going again. We get married 30th July 2016 so we have time

Have a little bit that I can use for small things but hoping to get back into saving in January so we can book the bigger more important things! x

That's what's stressing me out too! I keep panicking thinking somebody else will take the day and time we want even though I know that nobody else can give notice yet either! It's so annoying, can't wait for the day I can go and get it over with, but then I'll probably be nervous about saying something wrong lol! x

That's one thing I'm glad about, that we were able to book our registrar at the same time as booking our venue! Feel for you ladies who can't book one until a year before.. there's nothing to worry about at all but it's added stress that you don't need!

I have requested more colour samples for she who can't be named - hopefully these ones will be better than the previous ones she sent and I can get her booked in to make my bridesmaid dresses :-)

Me and OH are going to have a craft weekend one weekend after Christmas to make our invitations. Going to start looking at buying things for centre pieces/decorations in the new year as well I think and store them away somewhere safe x

I'm really gld my centre pieces and also the flower arrangements for the tables etc are all included already in my package so i dont have to worry about that - although it didnt stop me buying a fish bowl just after we booked the wedding!! lmao!!

My friend gets married in August next year and she was on hold to them for about 2 hours before she got through to someone to book the registrar! We've already attempted to make invitations but I got too stressy with it and gave up - plus OH isnt overally creative so that was a bust! lol

I've had some good news though - my venue can hold up to 250 people on an evening reception but the package is for 100 people to have finger buffet food lol - so I always just assumed we can only have 100 - just checked it and i can invite more if i dont want extra food free of charge! bargain.... 50 of them wouldve had a 3 course meal an hour previous lol!! xx

I have seen the fish bowls I want to buy for my centre pieces but I would need 11 and obviously can't carry them all at once, fingers crossed they still have them in the new year and I can get 2 or 3 at a time! Still no idea what to put in them though or what to give as favours! That's one of the simplest things yet it's the one thing I can't decide on.

We are making our own invites but I will be designing and printing them as OH is useless at that stuff lol! We will both be putting them together though but I think we might leave this until later next year.

Yeah I have designed them and will be printing them but OH made it clear he wants to be involved in the making process, which I thought was kind of sweet :-) wonder how long it will be before he gets fed up and annoyed though lol...

I have seen th3 r@g3 have some bird cages that I like the look of for centre pieces, but OH thinks they might be a bit too tall. Will go and have a look round there in the new year as they have some great wedding stuff and obviously good for those of us that are on a budget :-) I think we are going to have our tables in a 'U' shape rather than lots of individual tables, so this means we will need to get less centre pieces as well :-)

We're doing sweetie jars for our favours. My auntie is collecting baby food jars for us. We've bought the material tops (in all 5 of our pastel colours) and stickers to go on the front, just need the sweets nearer the time now and to actually make them! x

The r@ng3 have some lovely things, I haven't been yet but been looking online, might take a trip down there in the new year.
I am thinking of the fish bowls because we are having the evening only so I thought they don't need to be too formal but I'd like some sort of decoration on the tables.

Your favours sound so cute Flossie :) I was thinking of giving favour boxes with different sweets like L0v3 H3@rts etc, but I realised that most of our guests are 40+ and probably wouldn't appreciate sweets haha. I have had an idea of making cupcakes and giving them as favours in individual boxes but do I want the stress of making 70 cupcakes the day before the wedding?? Apart from that I have absolutely no idea at all! x

Didn't think of water beads! I could put those and one or two flowers in the bowls and that might look nice! Thinking of getting glass plates too just to add something to them.

I am thinking of getting disposable cameras if I can find some cheap enough, need 11 and I have seem them for around £50 which is a bit too much lol! x

Ouch £50 is a bit much for that!! Plus i dont want to pay to get them developed and find pictures of a tongue or something lol!! would be a waste!! th3 r@ng3 have glass plates - i then stuck glittered butterflys and diamontes on them - looked lush!!

My favours are going to be mini silver bucket pales with some sort of sweets - in our colour - then wrapped in celaphane (cant spell it!) with a ribbon tied round the buckets handle coming through the top then I'm attaching a butterfly name card to the top of the ribbon - i just need to make them lol!!

Didn't even think of the cost to get them developed! Maybe it would be a waste of money! I doubt that there would be many good photos from them either and most people have their own camera now. Have't seen them in there, found small ones for 99p and large ones for £1.99 in the house of bargains so it shouldn't be too expensive.

That's a good idea, I think you can get most sweets coloured to match your theme now, you just might have to look around for them. I'm sure I'll get an idea at some point I'd just like it to be sooner rather than later so that I can start getting things lol! x

We weren't sure what to do for favours, but something edible is always a safe bet.. you can't really go wrong! Most of our guests are going to be 40+ as well thinking about it, but who doesn't like the odd cheeky sweet? ;)

We're not bothering with disposable cameras! We're just going to ask people to take photos using their phones (or even their own cameras as a lot of people have digital cameras that they'd probably bring), and upload to social media sites using a dedicated hashtag so we can easily access them :-) doing the same for our DIY photo booth xx

    Hi
EmmaP2b Think you for you suggestion of Debenhams, I have not looked at the suits in there so I will have a look.
Mrs M Wade 2 b thank you for letting me know that next do suits, I had not realised that they do formal wear!

I wish I had got as much done, I have my shoes, my ear rings, got my something blue and borrowed, got something old and something new. I even have the all important wedding dress!

After Christmas I will try to get my husband to be, his suit and get a venue sorted and of course the register. I do like the idea of Emma's to get married later in the day and just have an evening reception to save some money.

My husband to be has an uncle who does photography so we are hoping to ask him to take the photo's and we are getting a friend who runs her own cake business to make the wedding cake.

We have asked our friend to do our photos we just need to get him round to look at things he has done :). Our friends mum is making our wedding cake- her baking is AMAZING!!! Lol. Looking forward to next year when we can get stuck in to planning :) x

I would look for photographer, DJ, transport if you want it and any other entertainment you might want. For us it was important to get the 'main suppliers' booked in as early as possible, then that leaves you to focus on more of the detail-y bits at a later time like your decs and centre pieces, stationery etc. :-) but it's nice to know the 'spine' of the day is in place if you get what I mean x

We are looking at our 1st venue tomorrow, and although we havnt got an exact date yet, we are looking at Oct 2016 purely because my dream venue starts its 'Winter package' in October and its all about the money, winter weddings = cheaper costs, but this date may change. All exciting tho :) how soon is to soon for dress shopping?

Hello fellow 2016 brides! Since it's now NEXT YEAR (eek!) I thought I would 'fess up to being a lurker and a November 5th bride. :) So far we've got the venue sorted and going to go see a photographer at the end of this month. I have no clue what to do after that! I am looking for a good ceilidh band but can't seem to find any and they do tend to get booked up quite far in advance :/

Have just been to visit our 1st venue, and panic has set in that almost every Friday & Saturday is booked up for next year. My october wedding may now be a December wedding and my Saturday wedding may now be a mid week wedding. I wish I hadn't fallen in love with the venue.
On the plus side, I now get to plan another wedding as my flowers aren't available in winter, so a whole new wedding to arrange and dream about :)

Also want to order a sample of the ring I like so I can try it on with my engagement ring.. if I like it then will get it ordered and start looking for OH's too. Will be waiting a few months before doing anything as have an expensive few months coming up, but when that's out the way will also start buying bits and bobs and start storing them, such as centre pieces and table decorations etc. Want to start looking for the bridesmaids dresses in June/July time x

So exciting that it's next year! I am getting little bits along with saving up for the bigger things, I know we have to pay half of the venue cost in October so I am saving for that. I am a bit stuck too though because last year I was just doing little things but I know I have to do almost everything this year so now I can't think! x

I've got all my centre pieces and decorations now. Got most of the bay of e as they were a bargain. Our friend is a photographer and we've asked him to do our photos so just need to sit down with him. I think we will start to look at cars next x

My centrepieces are the only thing I'm stressing out about, I have decided on fish bowls and seen the ones I am getting but I have no idea what to put in them! Bought favour bags and a Mr & Mrs sign for top table today :) so exciting buying little things! I have got a few things of the bay, such bargain's I look there first now to see if I can get things cheaper.

I think cars will be our next thing too, we have DJ, photographer and flowers so I think that's all that's left apart from things I can't do yet like dress and cake x

I've got loads of things saved in my wish list on eb@y, will probably end up getting a lot of it from there.

We've decided we're not having cars I think.. neither of us are really fussed. The dad of one of my bridesmaids has a vw camper which we wanted but was too expensive to hire one; he's said we can borrow it on the day. I might not need to travel in it as I hope to be staying at the venue the night before, but just want it for the photo opportunities mainly. OH would like a fancy car but again isn't bothered.. will probably just whack some ribbons on a family member's car!

It is such a good place for wedding things!

I wasn't fussed about a car but my parents are paying so we are going for one now :) I would love a vw camper! It is on my list of possibilities!
