What are you having as favours, we too have chosen but just need to buy them closer to the time.

Got the BM dresses sorted at the weekend and H2B got the ushers and dad's kit sorted just before he depolyed.

Next task-work out the menu, rings and entertainment!

Started marriage prep
Booked to give notice
Booked caterer
Made all the Bridesmaid bouquets
Made all the buttonholes
Made all the corsages
Had the cake baked and is now maturing
I've made the pew ends with those pull ribbon bows and artificial foam flowers with satin ribbon
Honey from my Dad's hives has been extracted (first batch -70lbs!) and it is lovely!
Table centres complete
Wedding cake topper made
Bridesmaid dresses bought as well as shoes
Chosen and paid half my dress
Bought my shoes
Got grooms party wear sorted
Got wedding insurance
Booked the cars
Designed all my stationery
Got the guest list together
Started working on table plan
Started making favours
Started getting toiletries basket together
Booked and paid for most of the photographer
Got the manzanita tree
Got the non perishable stuff for my sweet table
Got the app for my tablet for home done photobooth
Chosen first dance
Compiled most of wedding playlist
Asked people to be various roles such as cousins to do readings, godmother to be witness, bridesmaids, ushers etc
Bought rest of table decorations...
Started working on order of service-hymns and readings
Started looking at rings!

So really starting to all come together!

I know! It was only when I popped the number of days left in the countdown discussion that I realised just how quick things are going!

How is everyone's planning going?

We started to fill our ceremony choices out earlier but have hit a halt due to struggling to find any reading that we feel are appropriate. Plus H2b hasn't asked a few people a few things. He needs to ask his bro (Usher) to act as toastmaster and a friend to read a reading and another to be one of our witnesses lol.

we have just got back from paying the deposit for our suits and chair covers. I think I'll update my diary soon as we have done a few bits over the Summer.

Off the top of my head we need to:

Sort Readings
Ask 1 Witness to be a witness
Ask our Readers if they will read a Reading
Get H2b Ring
Choose Menu
Send Invites
Put Table plan together
Put table decs together
Put Sweet Trees together
Put Favors together when we buy them but that wont be until March time
Pay deposit for Flowers/Cake
Send our Ceremony pack back
Confirm/check with hair and make up they are still wanting/willing to do it

I've ordered our cake...
Moist chocolate sponge, layered with dark chocolate ganache and orange curd with orange liqueur, covered with a thin layer of apricot kernel paste and covered with chocolate fudge icing. Decorated with chocolate tubes and curls.

You are cutting it fine dress wise aren't you? I'd get shopping ASAP. My dress is taking 6 months to come in but not sure how long fittings/alterations take.

I have started getting a songs list together and actually make the playlist...

We have chosen the first dance but I'm not so sure on it now... anyone else keep changing their mind!?!

I made a play list last year so that we could just update it and replace a song when newer songs came out. Took me ages though as when you say 5 hours of music its sounds forever but when you actually get started you then have to pull some songs out! Well I did anyway lol.

Our playlist is going to be a no cheese zone too, we aren't into cheesey music! So we have your usual poppy stuff, a Dancier section with things like Disclosure, Avicci, Wiley and of course Pretty Green Eyes (mine and my best friends - who are all my BM;s song!) and we also have an indie/rock section including your usual Killers and Arctic Monkeys to heavier stuff like Queens Of The Stone Age and The Subways.

We knew straight away without speaking with each other what our first dance would be. In fact, it was only when one of my best friends asked what our first dance would be and we both said the same thing that the decision was made lol. We are having Snow Patrol & Martha Wainwright - Set The Fire To The Third Bar. If you haven't heard it Utube it. Its such a beautiful song and is about a long distance relationship which is what me and H2b went through for 3 years of our relationship when I was at Uni in Lincoln which is a 3-4 hour drive away from home.

Think I have hit a halt in terms of planning for now.

We are (hopefully) having our 6 month meeting with our venue in the October half term where we will also be showing our photographer our venue and hopefully seeing if we can organise our food tasting for the same day so we can confirm our Menu.

Once we have confirmed our Menu I can then finish the day invites and we should be able to start sending them out in November with the evening invites following in December depending on how many RSVPs we get back in that month.

Something I keep wondering is whether to have some background music throughout our Wedding Breakfast? Nothing heavy/loud of course but just chilled songs that are about love. Is anyone else doing this? Do you think its a good idea, or is it not necessary?

I think because Ive had a wedding planner i dont need to do much, but I just dont know!!
So far I have:
My dress, venues booked, florist, transport,videoegrapher, food sorted, celbrant, save the dates sent,
UK venue/catering booked, Dj booked, chocolate fountain/fruit palm tree booked.

Next week going to dress designer for BM dresses. And need to order BM fans (not having bouquets), button holes and confirm the invitations/placecards from sample I have chosen...

what else should I be doing???? haha.

It was lovely and I have picked my dress out. and I love it, the colour in it will match my colur scheme of cadburys purple :) x
